Show Sporrstoculor ssiys wommeim's sports mmnrngj UH'meir Weber States Womens Athletic Director, Jan Miner, said Monday at the Wildcat Club luncheon that faithful followers of womens 'basketball at Weber State need not worry about the 'absence of Kathy Miller. The discussion of WSC basketball and other topics concerning womens athletics at the school were voiced by the director at the weekly gathering. Talking first about the womens volleyball squad, Miner compared their state with the mens football team. "Its not a matter of not having players and I dont believe its a coaching problem," she said in reference to the volleyball team, Its an attitude problem. Its what you call getting over the hump. We have lost at volleyball for so long that our players arent sure they know how to win." Miner continued to illustrate her point when ine matches dicating the team had dropped two in the last week. The lady golfers have come from being the worst in the conference to one of the top four teams in just one year. All together Miner stated that 960 women are involved in Weber State athletics which is quite a jump from only 14 athletes just three years ago. Basketball Miner reported that within the WSC basketball the best recruiting year ever was enjoyed by the women. We are going to have a very balanced team, not anyone scoring 40 or SO points a ball game. We have the tallest player four freshmen with one of them ever to perform for us, said Miner.
