Show BEN Annual By Kris Buckaroo Rodeo another success story seconds, run a Figure eight, stop in front of judges and Evert Amid delightful young ladies ranging from first to sixth grade at Plain City Elementary n School, judges, Dick and Doris Thompson, had to choose one to reign as this years Little Buckaroo Rodeo Queen. An awsome task to be sure. . . So much anticipation, preparation, and hope have been combined by girls and their parents or friends that when measured by the degree of work entailed, every girl is, without reservation, a winner. Queen Hopefuls were from 1st grade. . . Lisa Harrison. From 2nd grade. . Judy Kern, Elizabeth Brinkerhoff , Angie Hod son, Shawna Ellis. Third grade entrants were, Catrina Jenkins, Jeanette Kimball, Michelle Roberts and Connie Rauzi. From 4th grade came Leisa Chavez, .KimberLee Tolson, Kathy Stewart, Robyn Robinson, Kari Kay King, Jamie Henrie, Suzanne Ward, Trisa Goodell. Fifth grade twenty-thre- e I presentation run. What a marvel to behold a small skillfully girl maneuver and control a horse 10 times her size. .. A princess was chosen from each grade level with Lisa Harrison, daughter of BARREL honoring two princesses. . . (due to a tie). They were Catrina Jenkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Quenton Jenkins, and Jeanette Kimball, daughter of Mrs. Jackie --- -- Kimball. Jamie Henrie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Henrie, was the 4th grade princess, with Stef- Williams, Wendy Roberts and Wendy Child. From 6th grade. . . Kimberly Peterson, Brook Tolson, Shelley Charlton. tea was held to which all queen contestants were invited. Each girl was interviewed by the judges and scored according to perA sonality and appearance. The following day contestants displayed their horsemanship at the colliseum. The competition was divided into two groups; lst-3r- d grade and h grade. 4th-6t- Jim announcer, Boman, called the groups separately into the arena, Sherry Mahas, last years queen, led the procession. Riders were judged acto Western cording Pleasure. At the conclusion of the first series of judgings, each contestant was individually called into the arean. MAHAS, last year's Little Buckaroo Rodeo Queen awards and new trophy and honors to Keri Kay King, this year's newly chosen Queen. She is the daughter of Larry and Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Tolson burst a few buttons (and so did grandpa ) as their daughter Brook Tolson was named as 6th grade princess. Attendants to the Queen were both 4th graders. . . Trisa Goodell, daughter of Jay and Claudia Goodell and Lisa Chavez, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LeRqy Chavez. This years Queen seemed completely surprised as her name was called three different times. Kari Kay King, daughter of Mrs. Beth Stickler, pranced proudly up on her beautiful mount to receive the horsemanship award and had scarcely reigned her horse back into position when her name was called out again as the recipient of the personality . Mahas, Steffanie Williams, Jeanette Kimball, Shawna Ellis and Tyler Wayment. POLE BENDING: Darin Parke, Sherri Mahas, Owen Chugg, Mr. and Mrs. Lane Harrison honored as the 1st grade princess, while Judy Kern, Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Richey placed as 2nd grade's princess. .
