Weber scored an 11-- 4 victory over Woods Cross in their first game of the season and traveled Saturday to Box Elder to down the Ben. Both Box Elder and Woods Cross are schools. Meanwhile, Webers first Region One opponent, Roy, dropped both of j their first two games in Provo, one to f Provo and one to Orem. On Friday, Weber is to entertain Layton in its second scheduled ; Region One game. The track team at Weber dropped their opening meet to a powerful Layton High team. Scott Martini, Mark Montgomery and Dave Green all incked up first places and they 3--A 4 gave Coach Dave Brooks encouragement for the new track season. Coach Marlene Summers gymnastics team placed second in their second meet of the season. Finishing first in the meet was Roy, Weber was second and Sky View was third. Webers soccer team dropped its second league match by losing to Bonneville. Two Warriortts MAGNAVOX Two Weber Warriorettes, Gail Knight and Mechelle (Cricket) Turner, returned home last weekend from the College of Eastern Utah after placing high in the Miss Utah Drill Mistress Contest. Held last Saturday, March 24, girls from all over the state competed for top honors. Finally emerging as the first place winner, was Carolyn Wright of Parowan High. Weber's Gail Knight took second and Cricket Turner of Weber placed third. Girls competed for scholarships, 8 x 10 professional pictures of themselves and trophies. Both girls from Weber came home with handrome trophies and pictures. On Saturday morning, the girls were required to model their uniforms and pose in five different drill team positions.
