Show Ben Lomond Beacon, June 29, 1978, Page 3 Secretary training offered Folk Dancers visiting locally OGDEN A two-wee- k class to train hospital ward secretaries began June 26 at McKay-De- e Hospital Center. Sponsored by the Weber County School District under the supervision of Roy Carol Shaw By A1 and Zel Warren will be Grand Marshals of the North Ogden Cherry Days parade on July 4. A1 is a native North Ogdenite. He was born and raised in North Ogden and has lived here most of his adult life. Zel says that she is not a native, though, she has only lived here 35 years, or so. A1 was the Chief of Police for North Ogden for 14 years, until he retired three years ago. The Warrens have two sons and three grand daughters. Doug lives in South Ogden and Jerry lives in Tempe, Arizona. Zel recalls that when the boys were growing up, DDO was expanded and many of her friends went to work. Additional buses will be added to the regular Commuter schedule in the form of a Park and Ride Route. It will run starting on 4th South and Main. Buses will follow the regular Commuter Route to Lagoon and will leave at 10:35 a.m., 11:35 a.m., 12:35 p.m., and 1:35 p.m. The bus will stop at 1st South and West Temple going North to pick up passengers who wish to leave their cars at the Salt Palace parking lot. Buses will return on the usual schedule but special buses will remain until after the fireworks. These buses will then return to the Salt Palace parking lot. The only thing used to control them in their feats is voice commands. Al said that these horses are the only horse act in the western states to perform at liberty. Al has had some very entries in interesting parades. He has had his ponies or horses pull may unique vehicles including old carriages, a minature stagecoach and a minature fire engine. He also has a collection of Swedish sleigh bells. Vera Pehrson is excited about the birth of her new little great grand daughter. David and Diann Thomas had their first baby last week. She weighed 9 pounds and 13 ounces. Vera and Sw en now have 6 great grandkids, 4 girls and 2 boys. graduates.
