Gene and Shirley Tew have sold their store, Tews Market, in North Ogden, to a young couple, Barry and Kathy Thurgood and Roger Ostler. Roger and Barry been have running Thurgoods Market in Syracuse. Gene and Shirley Tew will really be missed by the people of North Ogden as they have been so friendly and helpful during the two years they have owned and worked in the store. Their son, Steve Tew, will continue to work in the store under the new management. Shirley says they are going to use their extra time for a while to try to get caught up on everything else, as the business was very time consuming. She said they really learned a lot in the last two years and that We are really going to miss our in North good friends as they live in Ogden Pleasant View. She stated the people in this area are really special. Steve and Sherie Morgan have just had their third son. Their older boys are Greg, 8, -- ' ' Mathew, 2. The proud grandparents are H. Love, Gaggy I mean Gabby head western iceberg lettuce teaspoons sugar teaspoon salt teaspoon curry powder cup corn oil cup lemon juice Spicy Apples SPICY APPLES: 4 baking apples 12 cup water 14 cup Rose wine or water 14 cup lemon juice 14 cup sugar 12 teaspoon chopped crystallized ginger Hearty Core, rinse and thoroughly drain lettuce; chill in dis. At serving time, posable plastic bag or lettuce Crisp-itcut lettuce lengthwise into halves; place cut sides down on board and finely shred across heart to yield 6 cups. Combine sugar, salt, curry powder, oil and 14 cup lemon juice; toss with lettuce. Turn mixture onto platter or salad plates, top with Spicy Apples, cut sides down. Pour apple syrup over all. Spicy Apples Halve apples crosswise and remove cores, vj Place cut sides up with remaining ingredients in skillet; bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 30 minutes or ' until tender. Remove apples and chill.
