This trail is not as d as is the wide or indian trail. This trail is quite steep as it first branches off from the indian trail. The week will begin every Monday and players should be nominated for the week previous to the Monday deadline. A total of 92 races will have been staged by Christmas during the year 1979 in Utah. All races are open to anyone ragardless of talent, sex or age. The following is a partial list of footraces on tap for the Ogden area. A more complete list is available from the Weber Valley Roadranners Club, P.O. Box 1834 Ogden, Utah. The Utah Division of Parks is sponsoring a recreation and weather information hotline again this year. The hotline message, which is updated twice daily, will provide callers with weather, activity and park conditions. Though the three numbers to call for the hotline are long distance from Ogden, callers who make the long distance call may actually save money in the long run by being informed of park conditions and thus make better travel plans and save gasoline and time. HDDEN VALLEY is mcarcrthon 627-262- Molestus Road Race, the Ogden areas biggest race of the year, has been scheduled for July 4 again this year. This race starts and finishes in front of the Weber State College Campus and passes through a large The Half-Marath- portion of South Ogden. The race is exactly one half of the full regulation marathon distance at 13 miles 192 4 yards long. It begins at 7 a.m. on Wednesday July 4, will have eight divisions of competition and is open to anyone regardless of age or running talent. Entry torms tor this race are available from the Ogden City Recreation Department Office, located at 1220 23rd Street (Just east of Harrison Blvd.) Entrjufee or' 93 is 94 with a withoid. A native of Elgin, Illinois, Jfetinger graduated from St. Edwards High School in that city, ud attended Notre Dame University on a scholarship. He played for the Irish for three seasons, and also wu involved in Boxing and Bueball at Notre Dame. Following his graduation in 1981, Eatinger aerved with the Marine Corpa, where he wu involved in coaching the offense of the San Diego service team. He entered the collegiate coaching ranks during the 1933 season when defensive he wu named coordinator at Santa Bar-bar- a fee. The race begins in front of the college's administration building, then takes a couple of loops around the WSC campus, Jack Eatinger, a veteran coach, has been named by Weber State College as a new member of the football coaching staff. The announcement was made by head coach Pete Riehlman, and is subject to approval by the Institutional Council of the school. Eatinger will join the Wildcats June 25. His primary responsibility will be working with the running bocks in the Wildcat offense. Eatinger, 40, is presently the head coach and athletic Director at Fergus Falls Community College in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He has served in that capacity for the put four seasons, and is also presently president of the Minnesota Junior College Athletic Asaociation. His prior coaching experience includes jobs at University of Nevada, Reno; Chico State University; 84402. One way trip time for this hike is about one hour and 15 minutes to one hour and a lialf. Its quite steep with the iltitude sain being from 1,700 feet to 6,600 feet. The trail east up the canyon goes nowhere, but to a dead end. At this point the trail is quite rutty and very steep. Another summit of sorts is reached at about 5,600 feet and the trail continues to wind up and down along the mountain. After a good 45 minute to an hour's walk, a third summit is reached at 6,000 feet. This place is a good point to overlook the city as it is even with 24th Street. The trail is a little faded at the summit with all the rocks around, but it goes east now up through a canyon. The trail is steep here too and it climbs about 600 more feet until it runs east and nearly levels out. Finally the goal, hidden Vtiley lif reached, a valley Week. At this point, the trail becomes quite brushy and it becomes clear that probably deer use the trail more than anything else does.
