He has got to be one of the best pitchers around! He is also pretty humble. Bruce Hobbs, Weber Highs best pitcher with a 2 record is also a very interesting guy to talk to. He talked about his philosophy of baseball. His ideas are unique, at least to this baseball novice! 5-- Wanted to be Pitcher Bruce started playing baseball many years ago as a first baseman. He really didnt like it, but since he is a left handed player, thats where he was used. I always wanted to be a pitcher so I would go out in my back yard and throw walnuts at a shed After awhile, I got pretty good. After another year at first base, he got up enough courage to ask his coach if he could pitch. The coach was surprised at Bruces speed I was pretty big for my age and I could throw it kind of hud I just couldn't control it. Control is the most important he added Later he learned how to control his pitches, then started winning more games. r4pJn aa a dummy orstupid , he ig?oys When you consider that Mr. Card has been around the nation watching baseball players, he has watched scholarship to just about any college.!, there is not doubt Id put him at the Y (BYU) its just the best school all around, I think. Well, if you are that type, Nordic Valley is the place for you! Nestled in the northwest mountains of the Ogden Valley, Nordic Valley sits in a calm serene setting. Nordic Valley is internationally known for the ski resort but during the summer however, it is known for its golf course and skateboard park. Golf Course The golf course is quite pretty, to say the least. The property is now being developed by some developers in Salt Lake. The developers are " planning to sell part of the course as ' house lots But the local residents are putting up a fight to; stop the subdivision. The property was originally bought at acre lots. Now the developers are trying to get it rezoned as one third acre lots. The residents are putting up quite a fight and that's why you see a bumper sticker that says Save Nordic Valley stoot a developer! While the problem is being solved, the golf course has .been leased ans is running and operating at full force. Nordic Valley has recently employed a new greens keeper. Nordic Valley isnt operated like a country club, and for that reason alone, makes .it a. better course because the management isnt worrying about association officers, bar room, etc. If you want to take a lesson up there, the greens keeper is the pro. The pro shop is modest, but it does have everything you should need. Skate Boarding Great ! The skateboard park is something else too!
