A ' public hearing was set for Tuesday, June 5, at 6:15 p.m. on a proposed rezoning of some property owned by Clint Scothern at 2000 N. and 400 E. It is proposed to change the zone from R-- l to MP-1- . This property has recently been annexed to the city. The proposal has been through the Planning Commission and been given their O.K. They recommended that the whole area be put into the master plan as MP-- 1 to avoid spot zoning. Zoning would not be changed until requested by individual property owners, however. Under the present ordinance, all annexations come into the city as R-- l, which is the most restrictive ordinance. Then the property owner must petition to have the zone changed to whatever he needs it to be. MP-- 1 is the new designation meaning planned manufacturing. The Scother property is near other manufacturing Zones. ...
