This feat stands in line with the other numerous and academic ac outstanding complishments made at the school this year, The Sterling Scholar competition is sponsored by the Deseret News and KSL. r represent Weber High School this spring. Another fine note in favor of Weber High School is the selection of the Weber High Acappella choir for the Student, third place in Improvisation at the 1976 Debate Invitdtional, and Superior Drama ratings in Region 1, d Scenes and stories. He is active in many of Webers clubs, including Drama, of which he is president Key. Club and the Debate team. He has also been in many theatrical reproductions such as The Wizard of Oz, Music Man, Matchmaker, the Emporers New Gothes, Damn Yankees and Brigadoon. He enjoys reading, skiing, skydiving, and traveling, all while he Sterling competition. Representing the Drama Department is Lynn Rowley. Gordon Olsen, the mathematical wiz of Weber, will now join Einstein as a math scholar. He has been a superior contender in the National German exam for 3 years. He is Science Club and a member of the Ski, German, and Booster Clubs. His hobbies naturally include women, women and more women, computer programming, inventing, skiing, climbing and soccer Vice-Preside- He maintains a 3.5 GPA and plans Ph.D. in physics. Cathi Larkin is representing the English Department in this annual competition. She is a National Merit Semi-finaliand an active member of the Spanish Gub. She enjoys writing very much, and she takes a particular interest in children. She plans on getting a degree in on a st l Jt Jkwl i. ' Jam, Sandra Woodbury Doug Clary Special Education and creative writing. She maintains a 2.947 GPA. Rulon Eames has been selected as the Foreign Language Sterling Scholar. His finest award would have to be first place in the German Language State Contest. He also is the President of the National Honor Society. Other of Rulons accomplishments are a Brigadoon lead, debate finalist, Knights head, Outstanding Member of the Junior Gass, and Utah State Century III Leadership winner. He also enjoys voice and manner impersonation (that great of Howard Cosell, Jimmy Carter, and Richard Nixon.) In addition, he has an interest in art cartoons and tennis. He plans on W-pi-n, fkJwJSs! . a College level study of Political Science with his goals being a career in U.S. Foreign Science Relations. Science Sterling Scholar is Brad Cookson. Browning Theater in the Union Station at 7 p.m. in performances April 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11. Rochell Bunnell won the judges with a violin solo to capture the Weber High School Music Sterling Scholar title. She has received her participated in all state symphony and been a supervisor for state solo and young artist in residence. She is active in FBLA, Pep Gub, the tennis team and the National Honor Society. She plans to go to college with a major in music.
