Jacki has been running since her eighth grade PE teacher aroused her interest. As I grew older, I felt a strong desire to be active in some kind of sport I found that volleyball and basketball were not what I wanted, so I made a try at long distance running. Its what Ive been doing ever since, she said. For Patty, competition on the track has been highly motivating for the past three and a half years. Its just something that I enjoy, ever since I started in the tenth grade, said Patty. Both freshmen runners have a deep desire to see the sport of womens cross country exceed and be successful at the school. Its neat to think that the members of this team could someday become the schools first four-yelettermen, said Jacki. When asked what goal or great ambition they had in cross country, both girls without hesitation said the greatest thing would be to make it to the Nationals. To make it to the top is going to take a lot better times and a lot more experience, said Patti. ar Both cross country runners were impressed with the coaching techniques of Bob Hill. The most noticeable things were the way he took special time in practice with them and the way he has helped them adjust to school. Both women thoroughly enjoy Weber State. They enjoy it so much on campus they arent sorry they didnt stay closer to home and run. Patty is from Worland, Wyoming while Jacki comes from Rexburg, Idaho. Jacki further stated, It really pleases me to see the way people are accepting the sport around here. When we go back to the dorms, all the guys recognize us for doing well and that means a lot. bos boon Webor State's top finisher in rscant cross country moats.
