Mr. Bailey is proud of his work which involved thirty-eigh- t boys in training for the home construction trade. Wardell Mrs. Clover Wardell began work in the district lunch program in 1967- - During her ten years with the district, she has at worked Pioneer Elementary and Wahlquist Junior High School. Clover is a graduate of Lava Hot Springs High School in Idaho. Following retirement she indicates that she would very much like to do some traveling. Thelma Loughran Mrs. Loughran is completing a long and successful career which includes thirteen years as a teacher and as an years twenty elementary supervisor. During this career which began in January of 1950, Mrs. Loughran has been active in many professional organizations National including the Education Association, Utah Education Association, Education Weber Association, Association Education International, Delta Gamma, Kappa American Association of University Women, and of Childhood Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development. She received the School Administrator of the Year award in 1974. Thelmas teaching career began in Loa, Utah, where she worked with twenty-twstudents iirfirsfand second grade. Her salary, she recalls, was $60 a month for nine months. She recalls that her room was kept warm with a round belly stove which was fired up each o morning During by the janitor. her career in the Weber district, she has taught in the Riverdale Elementary School and also worked as a supervisor in the District ' Office. For many summers she supervised the migrant education program in the district. William K. Garside Mr. Garside began in the district custodial department in August of 1960. Bonneville Laurence G. Platt Mr. Platt concludes his seven and a half years of employment in the district as head custodian at South Ogden Junior High School. Prior to coming to Weber District in September of 1943, he taught in Downey and McCammon, Idaho, Lyman, Wyoming, and Spanish Fork, Utah. He concludes his career as a business teacher at Bon- Bon- Junior ending as a mathematics teacher at Roy School. Leonard High received his B.S. degree Utah from He is-- associations including the Utah Trade and Indsutry organization. Mr. West hopes to travel and spend time with his family and in service for his church. Barbara W. Oliver As Barbara leaves Weber District, she completes ten years of service. Her assignment the past year was that of a teacher at the new Green Acres Elementary School. During her teaching career, Barbara also taught for Ogden City Schools. She received her B.S. degree from Weber State College and is a member of the Weber Education Association. Don (. Call Mr. Call, who is the recipient of three National Science Foundation scholarships, completes his thirty year teaching career at the close of this school year. He has been assigned to Weber High School, beginning his work in the district in September of 1947. Don also taught school in Star Valley, Wyoming, and Rexburg, Idaho. He received his B.S. degree at Brigham Young University and did graduate work at University of California, University of Utah, Utah State University, and Weber State His favorite College. memories center around his pride in Weber High Schools and his apwinnings preciation for wonderful coworkers. Lyle M. Hudson Mr. Hudson has been employeed as a carpenters helper in the districts maintenance department since July of 1972. He .attended Weber High School, Weber State College, U.S. Air Force Technical School, and Radio Mechanic and Operator Radar Technical School. Lyle served as the vice president of the Weber Classified Employees Association. Among his recent favorite memories is the supervising of crews during the rennovation of Wahlquist and South Ogden Junior High Schools. He is looking forward to the resumption of his hobby of restoring old cars mingled with a little fishing, hunting, and traveling. Frances K. Heiner Mrs. Heiner who has been a teacher at the Washington Terrace Elementary School, is completing twenty-threyears of teaching. She began her career in the district in September of I960. Mrs. Heiner received a B.S. e degree from Utah State University and attended Utah Education Association, Utah Science Teachers Association, Utah Teachers of Mathematics, and Utah Society of Public Accountants. As he recalls some favorite memories, he is most pleased with his association with his students acquired their learned skills apply in the business world. Leone C. Bingham Mrs. Bingham is retiring as District School. Food Service Coordinator after a long and successful career in Weber District. Mrs. Heiner is looking forward to traveling after her retirement. Vivian F. Taylor August of 1963 was the beginning of Mrs. Taylors fourteen years of employment in the district food services. During her career she worked at Sand Ridge Junior High School. Vivian attended Weber County Schools as a student, graduating from Weber High School. When asked to recall favorite she memories, speaks of the happy, lively kids who she shall never forget as well as the nice people with whom she worked. Gladys Turnbow Mrs. Turnbow is retiring after eighteen years of service in the district school lunch program. She worked at the North Park Elementary School with her final assignment being at Roy Elementary. Gladys is a graduate of North Summit High School in Coalville, Utah. As a member of local, state, and national food service organizations, she served as the president of the Weber School Food Services in 1962 and was editor of Whats For Lunch in 1963 and 1964. The objective of the proposal is to provide land-usand long-termanagement on the principle of multi-ussustained yield of resources on 529,564 acres of public lands. The completion of the environmental statement will enable the Bureau to initiate an intensive range management program to improve the condition of public lands in the Hot Desert grazing area. Proposed management plans project a livestock forage increase of approximately 25 percent in the area over the next 24 year period. They also provide for considerable reduction in the amount of soil presently being lost through erosion and improvement in wildlife habitat, recreational opportunities and other resource values, A public hearing on the draft statement will be held at the Washington County Courthouse, St. George, Utah on June 29, 1978, at 7 p.m. Persons who w ish to present oral comments are asked to limit their statement to 20 minutes. Written comments will be accepted at the meeting or can be mailed to the District Bureau of Land Management, P.0 Box 729, Manager, Cedar City, Utah 84720, prior to June 14, 1978. She is a member of the Weber Association of Educational Secretaries. Mildred recalls that when she began work in the North Ogden Elementary School in 1966, the library was also the schools stage which meant moving the materials each time there was a program. Gardiner The eight years of Mr. Gardiners employment in the district have been spent as a custodian at Roy Junior High School. Clyde is a graduate of Uintah High School in Vernal and attended Utah State University. He is the recipient of the Ten Year Safety Award from the Bureau of Reclamation.
