We congratulate Chad Limb for winning this week's Public Employee- Salute. Chad is the Water Master and Sewer Superintendent for Beaver City. Chad has been employeed with Beaver City for 21 years. Chad volunteers his personal time to help customers with water and sewer problems. His work has contributed to the City's awards including best water in both Utah and in the United States through the Rural Water Association, Recently, Beaver City began a $4 million water project to replace old galvanized pipes with new pipes. Chad has found efficiencies in helping the contractor locate pipelines that need to be replaced. Chad's undertakings have.benefited the.City greatly. Thank You, Chad, for your service to Beaver City. Chad will receive two Hale Centre Theatre tickets and will be honored at the quarterly Public Employee Salute Luncheon. Make a Splash! The Beover Public Library held an amazing reading program this summerl The theme "Make a Spfash" was explored from the beach to the pond from under the ocean to a pirate's cove. The children that attended were treated to many stories, water treats, experiments, and a magician. To conclude the program a huge splash was made by seventy kids at the City Park. They dunked, slid, sprayed and played fn water for two hours and no one went home dry! Thanks to alt of those who participated and made this summer a fabulous reading experience! A special thanks to the volunteers and businesses for the many donations and assistance that were given throughout the summer we could not run an effective program without your help. Parowan By Taylor Myers The BHS Volleyball team defeated the Parowan Rams in Beaver on Tuesday, September 14, with a win in all three games. The Rams didn't stand a chance against our mighty Beavers. Macail Wood had 10 kills and 3 blocks, Brittany Blackner and Schyler Jordan combined for 18 kills, and Makayla Bess had 16 assists! Keep up the good work, ladies! Minersville Punkin Blast On Sept. 18, 2010, Minersville held its annual Punkin Blast at the shooting range North of the Fair Grounds. This year there were 26 men and 4 women competing for the Title of Beaver Counties Best Shooter. Alan Pullman, from Minersville, won the mens division and Trish Stewart from Milford won the First Annual Womens Division. Trish and Alan paired off to decide who would be this years Beaver Counties Best Shot. Trish was given the choice of weapon for the shoot off and chose the pistol. The shoot off came down to the wire and Trish Stewart took the Title. For her efforts she received a $25.00 Gift Certificate from Beaver Sport and Pawn and a cash prize. We would like to congratulate Trish Stewart and all who participated in this years Punkin Blast. As usual the day was a success and everyone went home happy. Beaver County Correctional Facility Booking Report New Library Hours Prep Of The Week By Shantelle Erickson I was sitting on the ice cold bleachers. My breath turning to ice as it hit the air. I watched entranced with the horse and rider in the arena, and with one look knew they belonged together. This week's Prep Of The Week is our very own rodeo queen Kalbie Lynn Jordan. Kalbie was born on August 3, 1993, in Logan, Utah, to Rudi and Julie Jordan. This superstar loves to be active. Her favorite sports -include basketball, soccer, and running. Kalbie loves school and enjoys reading. When she is not busy riding her horse, she spends her time watching her favorite movies: The Guardian and The Last Song. Kalbie loves every type of food and any kind of music and listens to a tot of country. When asked to describe how she felt about being chosen, she replied, " Surprised!" Congrats, Kalbie! Art on Cedar Mountain By Nathaniel Adams On Wednesday, September 15, 2010, Mrs. Sorenson and a group of art students went over to the Art on Cedar Mountain art competition. Approximately 33 students from high schools throughout Southwestern Utah attended. The theme of "the advent was A Representation of Green. There were 18 awards presented, and Holly Howard from Beaver High received the first place trophy for Junior High Ceramics. The high school students that attended frtfm BH& were Baylee Smith, Nicole Webb, Meili Christensen, Natali Tapia, Spencer Jones, Kimberiy Frandsen* Kota Inukai, Fernando Jurando, Chancy Call, Amber Mitchell, Nathaniel j Adams, Juan Magana, Bridenf coombs' Dayanne Escobar, j Marquez Jessup, Vincent' Bennett, Mason Hopkins and; Jake Howard. The middle: school students that attended; were Brittan Smith, Haley! Caddell, Holly Howard,; Lawrence Weber, Chad Howard1 and Ty Beard.
