Clair McMullin Burt & LeeOia Myers Burton Ralph Myers was born on November 25,1938 to Zona Mabte Gilties and George Andrew Myers. He is a life long resident of Beaver. He attended Belknap Elementary School and graduated from Beaver High School In 1957. He was active in at) sports and excelled at wood finishing in his shop classes. He married his high school sweetheart, teeOla Goff on August "10,1956. They were sealed in the St. George Temple on January 31,1964. LeeOia was bom in Rupert, Idaho on April 5 1940 to Oelmont Goff and Ha Warren Goff. She attended Milford and Beaver Elementary Schools and Beaver High School. She was • active in softbajl, the school newspaper, and'pep 'club and cheerieading. After high schooi graduation, Burt and LeeOia moved to Salt Lake City where LeeOia was educated as a cosmetologist and Burt as a general building contractor Burt and LeeOia returned to Beaver.after their schooling and 'raised four children. MaryAnn \ (Kenny) Bailey, Wendy (Russell) Albrecht, Burt (Emma) Myers, and Del (Heather) Myers. They have sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Burt has been very involved in community activities. He served as president of the Little League, as a city council member, planning and zoning commission and landfill committee and many other activities. He owned and operated Beaver Builders Construction for 45 years. He has served diligently in the church on the ward and stake level in many organizations. Burt has served as a High Councilman, and was called as the" Bishop of the Beaver First Ward in 1976. He has taught many dasses in ihe church auxiliaries. He and LeeOia currently serve in the St. George Temple. LeeOia owned and operated her own beauty shop in her home for many years. She has been active in PTD and DUP. She has been an election judge for many years, a Beaver Valley Hospital Volunteer and on me Festival of Trees committee. LeeOia has actively and happily served in many capacities in the church on the ward and stake level. She served for over twenty years in the Young Women Organization and as 3 Relief Society President for four years. She has been Girl's. Camp director and taught Gospel Clair McMullin is one of our honored citizens for July 24. Clair is a lifelong resident of Beaver. He married Iretta Mae Hutchings on September 26,1958, and they shared almost 52 years of marriage until her recent passing. Clair and Iretta are the proud parents of four children Danny (deceased), Debbie (Twin Fails, ID) Mike (Minersville) and Jeff (Beaver). Clair served 10 years as the President of the Little League program. He was instrumental In getting the Little League program started ;n Beaver. Beaver hosted six regional tournaments because of his efforts. He was very influential with many boys, whom have grown into fine men, and many are very involved in our community today. He taught them the meaning of hard work as well as the meaning of fun. Clair, with his wife Iretta by his side, was also involved in the Jaycee's organization. Ctair served for 10 years as President of the Jaycee's. He was also involved with adding additional race days in Beaver ihough out the race season. Many people know Clair from the Ponderosa Cafe as v/ell as the B-Store. Clair is an avid gardener. You can drive by his house anytime and probably sea him out puttering in his yard. He dedicated man/ years of service to the people of Beaver City. Through this, he gained many relationships and friendships that he will cherish for the rest of his life. He is grateful for ihe opportunity he has had to serve the community. Thank you Clair for alf the time and effort you have shared over the years. cnolce.
