Under the leadership of President Loretta Forman, the guild was able to donate to vari ous charities including assisting the Utah State Quilt Guild make over 1,000 quilts for Children With Cancer, The guild membership was recognized for this contribution at the September Quilt Fest in Ogden. Also, Ruth Crook donated, a child's quilt to Primary Children's Hospital in. memory of her great granddaughter, and Wiina Swain and daughter Laura spear headed a guild project to eight large baskets with items for newborn babies. The baskets were delivered to the Crisis Center in ''Cedar-'City,and the Division of Family Services in Beaver. Noteworthy was the guild help with the Quilt Gathering this past summer with the Beaver High School Art Department receiving a monetary donation. New officers were elected for 2009: Kyra Gagnon, President, Cheryl Elmer, V.P., Linda Lowder, Sec, Elaine Broniecki, Treas., and Kris Orton, Program Chairman. The guild has a membership of 50 ladies from Parowan, Richfield and cities in between. The new year promises to be a year of learning, sharing and again wrapping love and a warm quilt around someone in need. He is now a Utah Ambassador. He is currently one of six youth in Utah representing the youth statewide.
