The camp will Week of February 26 - March 4, 2007 Included in the 54 calls for assistance received by Beaver County Dispatch were: 7 Animal Problems 1 Assault 1 3 take place on June and is open to all 9th - 12th grade high school students. The camp is designed to teach students about health care careers in a hands-o- n with environment learning 11-1- 1 1 4 2 1 1 Participants will participate in 8 different workshops, as well as y participate in the Mountain Power Challenge Course to learn leadership skills. Group activities, including keynote speakers and a dance are also included. Cost for the camp is $70.00, which includes housing during the camp at The Eccles Living Learning Center, meals, workshop supplies and a camp Scholarships are available to waive the cost of camp for individuals who qualify. Transportation to and from Southern Utah University is up to the individual attendee. Master Chef Joe Williams, and his beautiful wife Andrea, have guided a class of through Mexico, Spain, Joe had Italy and Thailand. of each countries these brought to life through the armoa's and ingredients from each of the countries. He has cooked for us to make dishes unique to each country and had prepared those delicate delights for us to sample each cIess. Joe's instruction and information was as good as the food that was prepared! Each class member anticipated the surprise awaiting us at the next class. To say we have all been "Well Fed" is certainly an understatement. For those of us who were in a rut cooking the same old dishes, we have renewed ideas and energy. And for those of us who maybe didn't like cooking all that much, a new attitude has been borne. Thank you to Burgundy Blomquist for arranging the class. Todd ' Bi Superintendent Terry m ie City Council and to the City Council pr The Beaver City Council met in regular session at the Beaver City Hall on February 27, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. with the members of the following Council present: Mayor Leonard Foster, Council Membecs: Les Gordon Williams, Roberts, Rowland Yardley, and Kari Draper. Council Member Chris Smith absent and excused. Also present: City Manager Steve Atkin and City Recorder Hal Lessing. MINUTE APPROVAL: The City Council reviewed the Council Minutes from February 13, 2007 Regular Council Meeting. After review of the minutes, Council Member Roberts moved, Council Member Yardley 2nd, the minutes of February 13, 2007 be approved with the following corrections: None. All voted in favor of the motion. BILL APPROVAL: Bills were presented and approved for payment. One invoice corrected regarding Beaver's Birthday. BALL PARK COMMITTEE: Kenton Moss and Kelly Bradshaw of 1he Ball Park Committee met with the City Council and discussed the Quad Plex. Kenton thanked the City crew for the large amount of work that has been completed in the last two weeks. Prisoners are fixing gaps in the sod. An itemized list and time table needs to be submitted to obtain prisoner help. The committee went over items completed and what needs to be com- -' pleted. Fertilizing of the new grass. If the City will buy the fertilizer the Committee will spread. tic BEAUTIFICATION Bi ej COMMIT- TEE: The following members of the beautification committee met with the City CouncikNancy Smith, Connie Fails, Debra Carter and Connie Davis. The following subjects were dis- cussed: The Sheriff Department support the committee on the city street clean up. The City will be sending out letters the first of March with the cleanup needing to be completed by April first. Painting of curbs will be done by the Youth City Council. Removal of old vehicles and debris from City Streets is a priority. Letters will be sent to all citizens. The City Council recessed from 5:45 to 7:00 p.m. BUSINESS LICENSE: Mrs. Sharice Bloomfield met with the City Council and discussed a possible business license for a short term stay (thirty day) boys youth home. Beaver City Mileage Rate is presently set at 40 cents per mile. It was the consensus of the' Council that a policy be drafted that would set the City rate to match I.R.S. rate.
