Students participate in seven of the twelve Challenge Sessions taught during the week. In the hands-ocompetitive exercises called Challenge Sessions, students construct a steel suspension bridge, design and launch rockets, canmake nons, eliminate vortices in pumping pits, draft and manipulate water delivery systems using a Computer Aided Design program, fly in an aircraft simulator, and evaluate engineering projects throughout professors at USU donate their time to introduce students to their profession and challenge them in exercises which use math and science to solve physical problems. The Engineering State program at USU has been instrumental in attracting top students to engineering departments at universities across the state. Students receive little exposure to engineering in the high school to setting. Box 351, Beaver 0 www.bpressxmission.com a , Marion Alice Lindsay r.. Robinson Alice Marion Lindsay Robinson, of Irvine California, passed away July 24,2006 in Beaver, Utah. Marion was born April 10,1908 to Charles M. and Cora Briggs Lindsay in Beaver Utah. Marion was the oldest of nine children. Marion grew up in Beaver, Utah where she attended grammar school and graduated from Beaver High School as the class Valedictorian. She worked at the Courthouse, and the Beaver Show House until at the college entering University of Utah. She also lived in Southern California where she worked for a few years until returning home to Beaver where she fell in love with Theodore Robinson. They on March married were 19,1932. Marion and Ted lived and worked at the Telluride Power Plant in Beaver Canyon for 15 years. While there, they had three children. Marion was a very loving, and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed taking care of her family and the many visitors they had while living at the Telluride. She loved spending time in the Beaver mounBeaver-Count- L 7- -I t Kathryn (Kathy) Gale y tains. After World War II the family moved to Culver.City California her husband was where employed by MGM Studios. Marion was involved in several community and school activities. She was an avid reader and loved to read and tell stories to her grandchildren. Marion loved history and in her later years she enjoyed traveling around the world, visiting 38 countries including Asia, Africa, and most of the countries in Europe. She was joined on many of these trips by family members. Her favorite vacations were cruises. She has resided in Irvine, California for 23 years, the last 10 of those were with her daughter Annette and Bill. She had 13 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 4 great-gregrandchildren. She was always interested in them and what they were doing. They were the high light of her son-in-la- w at life. Marion is survived by one sister, Mildred (Roy)Yardley, two brothers. Pat and John (Mickey) Lindsay of Beaver, Utah; two Michael sons, (Barbara) Robinson of Beaver, Utah, Alan (Connie) Robinson of American Fork, Utah; and one daughter Annette (Bill) Brosnan of Irvine, California. Marion is preceded in death her husband, Ted Robinson; by three brothers, Jim Lindsay, Charles Lindsay, and Daniel Lindsay; two sisters, Norma Santillo, and Virginia Cassidy, and one great granddaughter, Clayne Robinson. A viewing will be held from 11:00am-12:30p- Saturday m July 29,2006 at the Southern Utah Mortuary 195 North 200 West Beaver, Utah. Grave side services will be at 1 :00pm at the View Mountain Cemetery Beaver, Utah. Compassionate services will be provided by the Beaver 6th ward. Kathryn (Kathy) Gale 1961 2006 Kathryn (Kathy) Gale, age 44, passed on to her Heavenly Father, peacefully and unexpectedly at the home of her parents in Beaver, Utah on Sunday July 16, 2006. She was born October 16, 1961 toArnell and Karen Beaumont Gale. She was the fourth child of three daughters and three sons of Karen and Arnell. She grew up in Beaver and graduated from Beaver High School in 1980. She lived in Orem, Utah. She worked for the Utah State Division of Motor Vehicles in Provo at the time of her death and was previously employed with the Jolene Company of Provo. Kathy has always been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. She loved the Lord and His church, attending the temple and worked in numerous positions of service including Relief Society president and teacher. She loved doing family history, genealogy work .and was well acquainted with her ancestors. She loved to read, study, keep a journal and work with computers. She had a great love and devotion to her parents, visiting with them often and cared for them when needed. She was a very loved aunt ("ant") by her nieces and nephews and always supported them at blessings, baptisms, school activities and family outings. She loved the mountains and hills of southern Utah and enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with her family. Kathy is survived by her parents Arnell and Karen Beaumont Gale, brothers and sisters Jody (Cindy) Gale of Annabella; Brian (husband of Danna - sister) and Peggy Templin of Salt Lake City; Cherice (Larry) Hawkins of Santaquin; Gyle (Renae) Gale of Orem; Troy (Christy) Gale of Beaver; and 23 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her oldest sister Danna Gale Templin of Salt Lake City; grandparents Albert and Martha Gale and Leland Stanford and Virginia Beaumont all of Beaver. Funeral service were held Friday, July 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m., at the Beaver 2nd Ward Chapel at 15 N. 100 W., in Beaver, Utah. Interment was in the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, Utah.
