Tayden J. Fails celebrated his 1st Birthday on May 22, 2001, with a party at the Park with family and friends. T.J. enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his brother Hunter. He loves to explore and has a mischievous personality, who is very loving to those around him. Camp Meets The May meeting of the Nancy K. Camp of the D.U.P. was held May 14th with Joyce Johnson serving as hostess. There were 13 members and 1 guest present. Chaplain Joyce Johnson led the Pledge of Allegiance and gave the opening prayer. Mabel Smith led the members in singing "Dear Evelina". Sweet Evelina, Thelma Goodwin read the minutes of the April meeting and they were approved as written. Captain Debbie Carter mentioned the new carpet at the museum and said we were sent a thank you for our donation towards the carpet and more carpeting was discussed. She also thanked those that came to help clean up. It was also discussed having our meetings in the church or in individual homes and refreshments would be discontinued except for special as such occasions Christmas but we would still have hostesses. Captain Carter showed a wooden leg that is at the Salt Lake Museum and told about the stone mason who had carved it for himself after he lost a leg when he was kicked by a cow. He walked from Alpine to Salt Lake City all the time to work on the Temple. She also told of the former D.U.P. President Clayton Wolstenholme. It was her father who. composed. "Come. These lessons have been so very interesting and we have learned so much about those who settled the various counties in Utah and have helped us to understand the great hardships they had. Sincerely, Audrey Hutchings I Ir Rosenlof Beaver Mandee Rosenlof, 19. passed away May 16, 2001 as the result of an automobile She was bom May accident. 16, 1982 in Beaver. Utah to Michael Kay & Dorothy Bailey Rosenlof. Mandee attended Beaver High School and graduated in 2000. She was currently attending Dixie College. She was a member of her high school soft-ba- ll team and their greatest cheerleader. She loved the outdoors and going out west with her fiancee Teft Short. She enjoyed the winter months and playing in the snow and going snowboarding. She adored her niece and nephew and loved children. She was the life of her family and when Mandee was around there was never a dull moment. She is survived by one brother, Kirt & Marrit Rosenlof of Ogden, two sisters, Deann & Lance Hannig of St. George, and Hiedi & Craig Wright of Beaver. One niece, Cayshlyn Wright of Beaver and Corbin Hannig of St. George. Her par& Michael ents, Dorothy of Rosenlof Beaver, Grandparents, Rex & Beth Turpin of Orem and Mary Ellen Bailey of Moroni. She was preceded death by her grandfathers. Max Rosenlof and Glen Bailey. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 19, 2001 at the Beaver LDS Stake. Center. Interment was in the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver under the direction of Olpin Mortuary. This is the weekend.... ....for all race fans. First of all High Country Raceway in St. George is holding a two day drag racing event on Saturday and Sunday. It should be a great event with many of the top cars from Utah and Nevada competing for cash and trophies. Gates will open at 8:00 a.m. and eliminations will begin at 1:00 p.m.. For you horse race fans don't forget the big meet here in Beaver on Monday. So, it looks like there is something for everyone this weekend. Have fun, and don't forget the sunscreen.
