Spry Proclaims 14th Flag Day A .proclamation 6f.Gov, Wil liam Spry, s'its Monday, June 14, as Flag day in Utah and everyone is urged to exhibit old glory" on that occasion. The proclamation follows; In commemoration of the birth of the American flag, adopted by the constitutional Congress, June 14, 1777, 1, William Spry, governor of the State of Utah, do hereby designate Monday, June 14, 1915. Flag day in the State of Utah. Every patriotic American citi zen senses his obligation of allegiance to the government, but since loyalty will lead him to do more than merf allegiance could demand it is important that his obligation of fidelity and obedi-anc- e to the government for the protection he recaives be supplanted by an ever burning love for it and all its institutions. A wholesome respect and deep reverence for the flag of our country should early be instilled into the hearts of fie children of the nation. Love for the flag will promote loyalty and patri otic support of the government. I urge, therefore, that on the day designated the American flag be appropriately and con spicuously displayed on the pub lic buildings, the places of business and the homes of our citizens, and that wherever possible Flag day exercises be held for the purpose of teaching the sig nificance of this national em- The old California road run ning down through Wild Cat and Indian Creek valley is to "be put into first class shape for the transportation of Fortuna ore to the railroad.
