Bishop A very pleasant and heartening bit of information came to our attention this week which we would like to pass on to our readers. For a good many years now, quite a number of our Senior Citizens have been the recipients of countless acts of kind ness and generosity on the part of Dr. and Mrs. Bishop. They have invited these people into their home where they could spend the afternoon and evening together, watching television or just in social chat. On holidays and Valentines day they were never forgotten and the occasion was always in keeping with the day. When one of these dear and kindly persons pass away, Dr. and Chloe are usually first to send flowers Surely this is a beautiful way to be the "good neighbor" and more of us should take time out from our busy lives to follow suit Dancing la wonderful training for girls; lt'g the firs't way they learn to guess what a man is going to do before he does it. Christopher Morley t fV yJ Scou'.s were presented to th audkne : and their matters spok3 commending the leaders in Beaver County for their help and encouragement of the boys. Theso boys will receive thsir awards in March. They are Vi rl Packard, Evan Stapley and Robert Baker. Six young men: Hal Murdock, Roger Cox, Roy Dalton, Donnie Harris, Mike Fothcringham and Richard Carter received their Eagle awards from Mr. Floyd Loveridge, Utah Nation Parkj Council Chief Executive of Boy Scouts of America, who reminded the recipients that they will now be looked on as men of responsibility and must be mindful that their actions and words would be a reflection on their parents and their scout training. An Eagle Palm award was made to Randall Smith by John Whitten, Regional Field Representative. This is an extension of his Eagle Scout activities and a very coveted award. Many local Scouts participated In the events and the various chairmen were present to super viae the activities. unidentifiable sounds of life about you, Bermuda shorts and tee shirt to allow access to your limbs for any number of bloodsucking insects, no knowledge of any human being, no matter how unfriendly, within those seven miles, and you'll be able to somewhat imagine my predicament lat night. Tha roads here make the streets of Beaver City seem like super highways even my home town driving experience fails on these mountain goat trails. And too, this driving on the left side of the road is as foreign to the natives as it is to me. (Seriously) But the controlling factor in me putting the JeeP in the four foot ditch, so far from town, was the lack of an emergency brake when the motor stalled while ascending one of these seventy degree inclines. The only sensible action was to level trvj and that's jeep immediately what I did. Actually I didn't have io walk all the way, and, to be right ho.;sst, I did pass a native on h- -' didn't stop a i;u;yo but he did speak. Then too I should admit that the largest, wild animal ont the island is a mongoose. The atmosphqre might have been intensified by the rustle of a snake or two, but the mongeese I?) have done away with all the snakes in this part of the Caribbean. Anyway, all woe is forgotten when you awaken to the glorl- -' ous sunshine on a Virgin Island. Your morning juice tastes like some heavenly nectar as you view St. Croix looming on the horizon straight ahead, Puerto Rico miles of ocean away on the right, and look directly down from your mountainside veranda onto the Charlotte Am-ali- e harbor of St Thomas, prettily docking merchant ships, floating houses, and banana boats, but much to0 small for the U.S. Aircraft Carrier, Saratoga, which has to anchor out at sea. So big in fact is the Saratoga that it makes the island seem smaller.
