Hon ic Beaver-J- unction List U, ( T AH, A $7,000 improvement project o" the Puffer lake highway has been completed, according to Sim Murdock, Beaver Com- County missioner. The greater portion of the work was placed on the upper canyon road in the vicinity of Puffer Lake. Work commenced at cue hast cove amd continued thru the north cove and down as far as Merchant valley, making approximately seven and one -- half miles of road with a 20 foot crown and ample shoulders. From Merchants Valley down to the upper Telluride power station, the road was widened considerable and greatly improved, Mr. Murdock statted. Casey's hill and the Thompson Hole highways were made wide enough for cars to pass at regular intervals. The construction of a bridge in the lower canyon required $1,000 of the improvement sum appropri ated by the state and county cooperatively. State and county equipment was used on the pro ject. Parking spaces were made near Puffer lake, Mr. Murdock said, and, and the narrow road around was widened to permit two cars to pass. Completion of the pro ject simplifies traffic conditions on this canyon road. It would now be safe to take a trailer house and large vehicles to Puffer Lake. Deer hunters will profit by the im provement. Despite the fact that road work was under construction during the entire vacation season, an influx of out of state cars traveled the road. California, Nevada, Tenne-seMissouri and New York state cars predominated, Mr. Murdock said. e, SPECIALIST TO VISIT BEAVER Df. E. B. Fairbanks of Salt Lake City will be in Beaver on Sunday, Septemeber 25th. Anyone desiring to get in touch with the specialist can do so through Dr. E. S. At a special meeting of the Mayor, his councilmen and other inter-tin- g parties it was learned that the Church authorities are asking a figure of $10,000 for the comer, however they would make a donation of $2,500 thus reducing the price to $7,500, if the City Council of Beaver would agree to sponsor a $2,500 project to remove the fence around the ball diamond and landscape the park. It was readily agreed by the councilmen that nothing should stand in the way of to such a wonderful apportunity get a building of this type in our community and it was with this thought in mind that letters were prepared and will be sent to the proper channels agreeing to do the City's part in the deal. No one can deny that the Northwest corner of the square is the most located spot in the city for a Federal building which will e States house our United and other offices of governmental amd civic nature. The Mayor and City Council, local church and state church authorities should be congratulated on the attitude and they have given. The Federal Postal Inspector has the power to recommend a site and it is upon his recommendation' that action will be taken. From all appearances It inj jWgON, GRANT II.
