The Unusual Horticulture Project - Milford Wind Corridor Phase III Project Scoping Notice : vl Fillmorer Utah-January 18, 2011-The Flllmore Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management announces the scoping period for the Milford Wind Corridor Phase III project analysis. Project information is available at the Fillmore Field Office at 95 East 500 North, Flllmore, Utah. The scoping period provides an opportunity for the public to Identify issues or alternatives that should be addressed In the NEPA analysis. The public scoping period ends off March 1,2011. Two public scoping meetings will be held to provide an opportunity for the public to submit written comments on the proposal in person and to talk to staff and resource specialists. The scoping meetings will be held at the following times and locations: ^ '& '"'•-,. Street Address 285 East 400 North Delta, UT February 16, 2011 6:00 to 8:00 pm Milford City Offices 302 South Mam Milford. UT Milford Wind Corridor Phase III, LLC proposes to build a wind energy facility In Millard County approximately 45 miles south of Delta, Utah. The project is located on BLM-adminlstered lands, lands administered by the State of Utah, and privately-held lands. The principal components of the wind energy facility include approximately 300 wind turbine generators, an underground power collection system, a connector road system, and an operations and maintenance facility. The wind turbines would be arranged in parallel rows (arrays) oriented west-northwest to east-southeast and approximately one mile apart. Spacing of the wind turbines along the arrays would be determined by the type: of wind turbines selected. Wind turbine towers would be up to 391 feet high, and wind turbine rotors would be up to 368 feet in diameter, for a total height from base to blade tip of 667 feet. The connector road system would run along the turbine arrays, and the underground power collection system would be installed along the side of the connector roads. The operations and maintenance facility would occupy about 15 acres. • . Electrical power from the proposed Wind Energy Facility would interconnect to the existing 345-kV generator lead line that runs between the Milford Wind Corridor Phase f Project substation and the Interrnountain Power Plant substation near Delta, Utah by means of a new, approximately seven-milelong overhead generator lead line. The principal components of the generator lead line include an electrical substation, approximately 7 miles of generator lead line, and an Interconnection facility (I.e., switching station) at the existing 345-kV generator lead line. The wind energy facility substation would occupy an area of approximately 15 acres. Project construction Is proposed to begin in fall 2011. The BLM will conduct the NEPA analysis to analyze the potential environmental effects of construction and operation of the proposed Milford Wind Corridor Phase III Project. The analysis will include the area of the proposed wind energy facility and the applicant's proposed transmission line route. The NEPA analysis will be tiered to the Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement on Wind Energy Development (http://windeis.anl.gov/eis/guide/index.cfm) on BLM-Admlnistered Lands in the Western United States (U.S.D.I. 2005). Date February 15, 2011 Time 6:00 to 8:00 pm Location Millard School District Office By Daris Howard . Bart had a very special bird that stood in his room. It was carved from one piece of wood in a long arch that narrowed toward the top. It was made to look like a long necked heron. The bird was strange looking, but wasn't as strange as Bart was talking to it. He would discuss with it his dating prospects, or more accurately, his lack of them. This wooden bird 'even had a name. He called it Prudence. One day, Bart arrived at our apartment and found Prudence was missing.
