The following members of the Council were present: Mayor Mark Yardley,. Council Members Connie Fails, Chris Smith, Craig Wright, Gary Brown, and Lynn Harris. Also, present were City Manager, Brent Blackner and City Recorder, Anona Yardley. The Opening Ceremony of an invocation, Pledge of Allegiance, and thought, was conducted by Recorder Yardley. CITY COUNCIL MINUTES APPROVED Minutes of the previous regular council meetings of April 27, 2010 were presented. Council Member Fails moved and Council Member Harris seconded the minutes be approved with typing and grammar corrections. All voted in favor of the motion. None opposed BILLS APPROVAL Bills were presented and reviewed by the City Council. Council Member Brown moved and Council Member Fails seconded the bills be approved. All voted in favor. None Opposed. He had before and after pictures to show the Council. He used pictures of local interest on this billboard. Possibilities for the back of the billboard were discussed, (t was built by a Beaver City power pofe to facilitate the possibility of being lighted at night. The Council expressed their thanks for a project well done. SR. CITIZEN ACTIVITIES PAM MCMULLIN Pam McMuHin, Sr. Citizen representative for . Beaver County, addressed the Council about the programs of the Sr. Citizens such as Meats on Wheels. These programs are funded by the Five County Association of Governments and Beaver County, Transportation - The Seniors have two busses available to them. Social Activities - They participate in many social activities such as cards, Bingo, Exercising, etc. Mrs. McMuHin expressed the appreciation of the Senior Citizens for the use of the building. Lots of people use the building, happy to work with the City on upgrades for the building. They expressed their thanks for the new- ice machine and their hope for some new shelving and possible new freezers, refrigerators, and stove. Health Fare: Approximately 200 people from Beaver County came to the health fair. Suggested Improvements - Mrs. McMuHin gave a list of suggested improvement for the building. They were: new folding chairs, flooring needs to be replaced, Christmas decorations, better lighting in foyer, motion censored light in front of buifding, a place to put the vacuums and cleaning supplies. Discussion followed about programs and possibilities of combining groups and services. The Council reviewed the current rules and the proposed changes were discussed. The fees were reviewed and the regularity of usage discussed. The fence at the Pioneer Park playground will be fixed. , Council Member Wright; _ . Golf Course - The Golf Course Path is finished. The path was shortened from the original bid resulting in a $500 savings. The number of stylettes over the fence on the,' North side of the course was questioned. Council Member Wright will look into any fence damage and take necessary, steps to fix if necessary. '. , Council Member Smith: Opera House - The Council discussed parking for the Opera House. Manager Blackner contacted Mr. Hunt to ask about his future plans for his properties. He has not considered any sale of properties. The Council decided to move forward with a bid on the roof. The ball park steps will not to be done before this weekend's tournament. Concern was expressed that the red safety zones on Main Street are not being observed. . Main, Suite B46, Richfield, Utah. v The purpose of the meeting iS to conduct "welcomes'* and introductions, review the Federal Advisory Committee Act requirements, brief participants on Payments to States legislative history, discuss the guidelines for Title II and Title III funding and proposals, review projeci proposal guidelines and processes( elect a committee Chair, and receive public comments on the meeting subjects and proceedings. Generally, Public Law 110-343 allows the Secretary to reauthorize previously existing RACs or to establish new RACs as appropriate.
