All fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students participated. Four classroom finalists represented each class as they advanced to school-level competition. Thirty-six students competed in this school-level bee. Fourteen of these students advanced to the Final Round. At the conclusion of the Final Round, Jarom Harris stood alone in first place. He had answered all Final Round questions correctly. School champions take a written test and hope, to score among the top 100 in the state i o qualify for the state,,'bee, Jarom was among the top 100 Utah student geographers last year. He will again take the written test and hopes his score will be high enough for this year's state-level competition. There is usually little or no waiting at the walk-in clinics since demand has decreased. However, people are still encouraged to get vaccinated since seasonal flu is becoming active in our region and H1N1 may returntfor a third wave in the coming months. Children age nine and under should get their H1N1 booster vaccinations if they received their first dose over 28 days ago. H1N1 vaccine continues to be offered at no cost through the health department and some healthcare providers. Seasonal flu vaccine is $25 or no charge with some insurance plans; including Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, PEHP, and SelectHealth.
