No further business being presented before the Council the meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m. Minutes Of The Beaver City Council The Beaver City Council met in special session at the Beaver City Hall on November 20, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. with the members of the following Council present: Mayor Leonard Foster, Council Members; Les Gordon Roberts, Wiiliams, Rowland Yardley and Chris Smith. Beaver City employees; Sharm Lopshire, Bret Black, Jon Quarnberg, Al Bradshaw, David Chad Limb, Ryan Martin, Anderson, Dan White, Shawn Limb. Ball park Committee Members; Joe White, Kelly Bradshaw, Kenton Moss. Also present: City Manager Steve Atkin and City Recorder Hal Lessing. Council Member Kari Draper absent end excused. QUAD PLEX WORK MEETING: Items discussed were; Review of revenue and expenditures attached hereto as Estimated cost of the project (with out parking lot asphalt or lighting) $938,862. Two South Parks need to be ready to play on next spring. Watering of sod is being accomplished (temporary) by use of a fire hydrant. First ball game is March Exhibit-11-20-2006-- A 2007. 3 to 4 inches of red colored infield dirt. Granular material will be placed under the red dirt. J. R. Ready Mix would be willing to donate under layment reject sand. The possibility of using screened existing top soil as underlayment was discussed, The ball park committee recommended use of reject sand. Granite sand versus reject sand was discussed. The problem of the red dirt mixing with the under lying dirt was discussed. A weed barrier was discussed. After discussion it was suggested that the underlayment be: a mixture of granite sand and reject sand. The fill shall be slightly compacted to prevent mixing of the top material and the base. The City Manager will work to develop a mixture that will allow drainage but compact enough to not mix with the red playing surface. Gate needs to be widened to 24 foot allowing batting cage moving in and out. Pipe on top of concrete back stop to tighten fencing material to. Paved walkway to concession stand was requested by the committee. Pavement is not in the present budget. Concrete step into dugout. Committee requested metal soffit under back portion of roof on the dugouts. Grass needs to watered tomorrow sprinklers need to be adjusted. Order bases and anchors. Chain link on the front of dugouts except the boys. Equipment needs to be operated by the City employees. The City would have to be willing to have an operator or two every night to support the volunteers. The Committee will come up with dates that volunteers will be available. Lowering of breaker boxes. Is it necessary or are they okay? The ball park committee was excused.. The working relationship between the ball park committee, volunteers and the City crew needs to improve. The City equipment needs to be operated by City personnel due to liability issues. The City Manager will coordinate volunteers and City crew.
