All that remains of the Beaver and Milford inventory is a few lamps, pictures and some other odds and ends, a good bargain. However, Chad Johnson was still at his post, hoping to get those last remaining customers, but also being steadfast for the children's Trick or Tieat parade. He wants to make sure there are a few stores open to give out candy. 62 years ago, Sam Johnson, Chad's Grandfather, was working as a Beaver County Sales Representative for Leigh's Furniture in Cedar City when he decided to start a furniture store of his own. He initially opened business in the old Lee Building where Erwig's Sewing shop is now located. When Sam's son, Warren (Chad's Father), returned from the war, they bought the building in Milford and Warren opened the business there. In 1969 when Chad returned to Beaver, he began working for the family business and has run the store in Beaver for 36 years. Chad has his reasons for closing the business. He says it is time. The building in Milford is still for sale, but the Beaver building has sold. We look forward to see what businesses may come next. As for Chad, he will remain a very busy man with his County Commissioner duties, family, and many other activities that are sure to come his way. " 1 . Local Boy Scouts and Circle Four Farms Test Water Quality at Beaver River As Part of World Water Monitoring Day Beaver, Utah (October 26, 2005) Local Boy Scouts and Circle Four Farms employees sampled water quality at the Beaver River on Tuesday as part of this year's World Water Monitoring Day activities. Armed with water monitoring kits, the volunteers collected samples from tne Beaver River for four key tests: pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature and clarity. Participants will enter their water sample data into the World Water Monitoring Day database, available to the public at www.worldwatermonitoringday.org. The data help in drafting summary comparisons reflecting water quality conditions throughout the world.
