Atkin, finance chairman present the budget for the year, which was approved by the club. Other matters of business were discussed. Two new members were voted on and accepted, Ada Kramer and Fran Garcia. Larry Morris sang a solo, "Magic Moments", accompanied by his sister, Gloria Morris. Those attending received some pertinent information, relative to "Responsibility to Our Senior Citizens" (which we all feel we are fast becoming) The subjects: Social Security, Welfare, Nursing Homes for the ill and mediaged, and the Kerr-Millcal assistance for the aged act, were ably handled by Naomi Packard, Donna Morris and Flos sie Johnson. Thirty members were present to enjoy the fine discussion. Hos tesses were Irene Cox, Esta Cox, Barbara Bradshaw, Madeleine Bole, Dona B. Cartwright, Emma Davis, Blanche Wood and Sue Davis. Mrs. Stella Walbom, for the winter in Salt Lake. Norman Muir, district manager for the J I. Case Company left Saturday for a week's tour with other managers to Chicago where they will visit the company's plant. He drove to Salt Lake where he took a plane for the trip to Chicago. William Walbom, 36, 3631 Hawkey St., Salt Lake, grandson of Mrs. Mary Goodwin, was reported in fairly good condition in St. Marks Hospital. He was hunting with his son when he was shot in the leg, forehead, cheek and left elbow by some other hunters. He was taken to the Heber Valley Hospital for emergency treatment and later transfered to Salt Lake. BELKNAP CAMP MEETING The meeting of the Belknap Camp of the DUP was held at 2 pm. Monday, November 2nd, in the Community Center-Vic- e Captain Leola Balckner conducted. Prayer by Luella Thompson. Fifteen members were present Captain Martha Paice read a letter from Kate B. Carter, regarding the District Convention to be held November 7th at Cedar City. She urged all members to attend. The lesson 'The Pioneer Memorial Building'' was given by class leader, Nell Blackett. She suggested everyone should go through and see this building Agnes Whornham gave the history of the life of Mrs. Hilda A. Erickson of Grantsville, Utah the only living Pioneer who will be 105 years old on Novem- ber 11th. Many pioneer articles were displayed. She is feeling better. Mrs Garth Baldwin had ten members of her sewing club at her home on Friday night. An enjoyable time was spent and a delicious plate lunch was served Mrs. Garth Baldwin had to take her son Scott to the eye doctor in Cedar City Monday. Hy Lee BEAVER By Mildred Yardley Mrs. Ruby McMullin enjoyed the weekend visiting her son Doug and family in Salt Lake. The occasion was to celebrate the birthday anniversary of her twin grandsons. The MIA Maid girls of the Third Ward held their Daddy Date November 3rd in the lst-3r- d Ward Church. An outstanding program was presented. Much fun was had by all fathers who attended. Lovely re freshments were served to a large crowd. The Stake Relief Society held their monthly meeting in d Thursday afternoon With Mrs. Susan Beason conducting. The Milford Singing Mothers presented a number, then all departed for class work. Exhibits were shown at the end of class work Handi-wor- k and appropriate Christmas presents that could be made by the work directors of the Wards. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Manzlone had a wonderful surprise Friday when their son Joe walked In on them. Mr and Mrs. Joe Man-ziolive' in Alexandria, Virginia. They have one son and two daughters. Joe is connected with the Land Grant College in his work and had been to Utah State University. While he was there he ran into an old school chum, Bill Farnsworth, and visited at their home. He then went on. Mr. and Mrs. Rue Swindle-hurs- 't and Sherman attended the Homecoming at BYU, In Provo, over the weekend. Ann enjoyed attending a class reunion and all three visited with Ann's mother before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Frazer of Cedar City were dinner guests Wednesday, Oct. 28th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Baldwin. They also visited other friends and relatives. Mr and Mrs. Orien Orton of Pangiiitch spent Sunday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Cox. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Penney had double trouble this past week. Colleen was in Salt Lake with their daughter, Karen Rae, who is having a knee operation at the St. Marks hospital and Friday morning, David was rush ed to- the Milford Hospital for an appendectomy. Hope they both have speedy recoveries Mrs. Betty Mortensen accompanied Mrs. Penney to Salt Lake to take their little son Donnie for a medical check up. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Hutchings entertained Sunday for their little daughter Carolyn's birthday. Those present to enjoy the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hutchings, Mr and Mrs. Sam Hutchings and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Limb. Mr. and Mrs. John Gunn are home again after visiting in Provo. It's hard to keep track of the Gunns. Before returninng to their home in Fallon, Nevada where Howard Is teaching school Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Skinner are working on their new home and will soon be able to move in. Guests at the Sam Hickman home for a couple of days were Alta's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs C. L. Towler of North Hollywood. They had been to Salt Lake to attend the funeral Mr. R. Groo of Salt Lake City last week. Mr. Groo was the husband of Alta's sister. He has been real active in civic affairs and organized and was the first Superintendent of the Highway Patrol under the direction of former Governor Dern. Gary and Carlie Pickard and baby son of Salt Lake visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Har-le- y Fotheringham and Mr. and Mrs Glinn Pickard over the week-en- d. Last Thursday Mrs. Fern WilMrs. Jessie Smith, Mrs. Janet Smith and her two children attend a Circus Show the East Elementary First Grade of Cedar presented under the direction of Mrs Val Smith. The room was decorated as a circus tent, with huge parachute serving as the tent. Balloons, cardboard animals and other circus characters completed the liams, iUu-sio- n. Dances, Poems and songs about the circus were presented bv the youngsters. Ila wrote the script and Val taped the sounds for her. This was a training assignment for Ila who is in the final year of her Elementery Education at CSU. This week she is observing teaching techniques at the Belknap School In Beaver. Last week-enJanet and Marvin Walker were guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs James Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Walker.
