ERICKSOX Mrs. Nellie Erickson of Minersville has received word from the war department that her son, George H. Erickson, is missing in action since the fall of Corregidor. According to word from the department he may have been killed or taken prisoner of war. Young Erickson enlisted in the United States army in November, 1940, and was serving in the medical corps at the time of the Philippine fort's fall. His mother received a letter in March which had been written in February. He was born September 27, 1915, at Shauntie, Utah and had resided most of his life at Minersville. He was a member of the L. D. S. Church. He also has a sister, Mrs. Alverta Parkinson, of Los Angeles. ROYAL V. WOOD Word was received early this week by Miss Effie Wood of Minersville. that her brother Corporal Royle V. Wood has been reported as missing in action in the Philippine Islands. He was a graduate from the Bea ver High School with the class of 1937, and worked at the Civilian Conservation Corps for two years before his enlistment. Corporal Wood was attached to the Sixtieth coast artillery, antl-- j aircrau oivision on turrt-Kiuu- i when lost heard from in November, 1941. He joined the Army in November, 1940 and was sent to the Phil ipptnes in January. 1941. He has a brother Sherman J. Wood serving with the Air Corps Anothlit Sheppard Field. Texas. er brother.
