Entangled in a Chain attached to the running-gear- s of his father's wagon, the boy was dragged, head down, for a distance of three blocks, receiving a fractured skull, broken Jaw, teeth broken out, and his hands and fingers literally torn to shreds. Accompanied by his younger brother, Cleo started from his home to ld Jackson county with his father's wagon, taking the rear wheels and hounds of another wagon, chained on behind. When reaching the foot of the hill on Tenth street, the trailing wheels became loose and Cleo stopped the team and went back to the rear end of the wagon to fix them. This occurred about seven o'clock, just as it was growing dusk. Grant Tolton, in his car, passed the wagon and team Btandlng in the street, and met Fenton Dunning coming from the opposite direction. The lights of the Tolton car blinded Mr. Dunning, who did not see the wagon in time to avoid striking the side of It. The impact frightened the team which started at a slow trot down the street. The younger lad Jumped from the wagon, and Mr. Tolton, not knowing anyone else was with the wagon and team, drove back three blocks and stopped the horses. It was then discovered that Cleo had become entangled in a chain attached to the axel of the wagon, and had been dragged the entire distance. The boy, badly mangled and unconscious, was placed In Mr. Tolton's car and rushed to the doctor's office. Later he was removed to his home, where he passed away Tuesday night without regaining consciousness. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the East Ward Chapel at 2 o'clock. XXIV. TION -- STRIP" TO UTAH SAYjTARIZONIAN From Flagstaff CAriz.) Sun: With the firm conviction that Arizona ought to give Utah the "Arizona' strip" and let her fix up the roads therein, John L. Riggs and Billy Riggs returned Thursday night from an automobile trip to Salt Lake City. They went up to take John Riggs Jr., who has entered the University of Utah. Tbe Mesaites found the roads good nearly all the way to the Utah capital, by the way of Needles and St. George, except for some 15 miles between Nevada and and Utah, across the upper corner of the Arizona strip. They refuse to describe that particular stetch as they cannot conscientiously use that kind of language. Anyway, that piece of road is bad, very bad. On either side are the splendid Utah and Nevada highways. "Arizona Is doing nothing with the strip north of the Grand Canyon," John Riggs remarked this morning, "It Is so retnote and so sparsely settled and It is almost impossible for us to do anything. We have always held It because we wanted both batik of the Grand Canyon, but that Is selfish and wrong. "Since we can't develop that strip and give It the good roads that the rapidly Increasing tourist traffic war' rants, let's give it to Utah. Geographically it belongs to Utah.
