By its agreement with the Telegraph Tele-graph Company the News could not relay this information thus received, re-ceived, to outlying districts and towns, but through special telephone service with Salt Lake, this paper was enabled to furnish the entire county with news including the county seat itself. Local hotels were also given election bulletins until a late hour, the guests as they dined or reposed being informed of the situation sit-uation all evening. By arrangements with some of its rural correspondents, the News also received returns from all over the county, and bulletins announced to the public the results. About 2:30 a. m. the News had run off -a special edition, giving returns re-turns and probabilities to that hour. It is to be noted that the News, while hoping for favorable Hughes returns faithfully bulletined conditions as reported and also refrained in its extra from extravagant claims of a "landslide." The News soon after .midnight forecasted Bamberger's election and so announced in its special issue. |
