September 17 t DATES Emerge ncy Medical Services Week Possible UP&L Rate Decreas cf The Utah Department Commerce has reached an agreement with Utah Power it light Company which may result in an immediate rate decrease of more than 4 percent for UPsYL's ostmars. In a stipulation filed with the Public Service on Wednesday, UP&L agreed to an immediate rate reduction of 36.5 million. The settlement follows extensive auditing and analysis by the Department of Commerce's Division of Public Utilities (DPU) and the Utah Committee of Consumer Services (CCS). The stipulation must be approved by the Public Service Connniiiion before rates are reduced. Upon approving the PaciflCorp merger in January 1889, the Utah Commission Service Public a rate UPAL to preeent required case wiihin six months. In July, VUt the company filed 1988 financial data which was analysed by the DPU and the CCS. The two atate agencies regulatory determined a rate reduction wa justified. Provan last reinstated week previous regulations which allow the taking of big game animals with any certerflre rifle using expanding type bullets and incapable of being fired fully automatic. This cahnge makes the rifle restrictions the same as they were in high-power- 1968.
