These students have teen selected because of what they contribute to the school and that they are top quality students In the classroom. Timothy is a seventh grade student at Milford High School. He has "been on the Honor Roll and has had perfect attendance both terms this year. He participated in the Junior High Wrestling program ds , ' t Hi tm tr'tii - I , - 'i j --f and Jill Mayer during the wrestling season-Tlenjoys school and likes to work with his hands. Jill Is a junior and Is currently serving as Junior Class President. She has teen on the Milford High School Honor Boll ever since the seventh grade. She Is active in school activities such as: yearbook and Newspaper staffs, Model VJi Tigerettes, Volleyball, and Track. She recently attended the ftah State legislature where she served as a page la the House or Representatives. Congratulations to these fine young students. m hy Beaver County Commission Meeting Reported by Puss Williams Joe White met with the County Commission to renew all the insurance policies except for the law enforcement policy, which icomes due ion July 1, J 989. The County saved $3,830 lover last year on their Insurance policies. The County Com mission approved the purchase of the bed for the new dump truck which the County ordered. Steve Baron, Director of Social Services for the Five County Region met with the County Commission to introduce himself to Boss Marshall, who is over Social Services In the County. Mrs. Bob Kohler met with the County Commission in regards to a nuisance complaint that they filed with the County in regards to a business on property adjoining their property. They were also inquiring about whether or not a business is allowed on that property. She was instructed to meet with the County Attorney to see what could le worked out. Max Mayer met with the County Commission in regards to amending his conditional use permit. They could no longer afford to meet the EPA Regulations on underground tanks. There was a hearing the yard as to whether they had complied with the existing conditional use permit Chad Johnson stated that livestock Is :not allowed on the property. Craig Davis also stated that good housekeeping policy had not 'been kept up on the property. Bryan Sherwood stated that If the tank was going to be moved, that it icould be moved to the north side of the building on the property. It was the (consensus .of the Commission that Craig Davis draw up a .conditional use perm H with some new (conditions as stated above, then refer It back to he planning and Zoning Com m ission. Bids were opened on surplus vehicles and equipment that were put up for bids- - The following bids were accepted: Terry Wiseman bid on the 1981 Chevrolet pickup was accepted; George Murdocks bid on the belly dump trailer was accepted; Rod Rose's bid on the 1 972 Chevrolet pickup was accepted; Mike Smith's bid on the 3979 CMC 4x4 pickup was accepted. Bids on all the other equipment on were rejected and will be rebid next month, all except lor the pug mixer which was withdrawn. Bills were approved lor payment. Being no further business before the County Commission, the meeting adjourned at T;20 p.m. Library Board Meeting Reported by Kandi Muir During the quarterly meeting of the Beaver County Library Board son suggested working toward the goal of having a road installed. this of having a road installed this summer on the west side of the Milford Library for the handicapped entrance. He also raised concerns over the condition of the front steps at the M ilford Library. Mrs. Jones reported that one individual recently fell down those steps. Mr. Johnson indicated he would work with Milford City to encourage the upgrading of the building. He also reaffirmed that Mrs. Jones is a County employee, and internal oiierations of the Library are tiie responsibility of ttie County, withMilfordCtty having control over the building. Beaver Librarian Joan Heal, and MinersviUe Librarian Peggy Breinholt tmth reported smooth running Library operations. Mrs. over excessive noise in the Beaver Library, when dance classes are held during Library hours. Mr. Johnson suggested she discuss this m atter with the Beaver City CounclL Mr. Johnson also recommended implementing a County wide inventory program, and requested each Librarian prepare a list of all County owned property within their respective libraries, and submit these lists to the County Clerk. The Board also discussed the possibility of a future goal to have computers installed in each library for use by the librarians. After discussion, it was determined that more information needs to be obtained on the various types of computer systems available, along with maintenance costs, etc.. The Board is scheduled to meet again on June 8, 1989 at 7:00 p.m. at the M inersville Library. Those present: Phyllis Truman, Imelda Banks, and ToddMcMflUifl. Visitors were: Kevin Carter, Puben Dotson, Danlne LoreniO, Connie Phelps, Denise Edwards, IS students from the M inersville Elementary 3rd grade, Josh Holling-shea- d, and Leslie Bailey, and Lorl Bailey. Mayor Truman welcomed those in attendance at the meeting. She explained the procedures of the council meeting and Introduced the council members. The M Inersville Elementary 3rd grade presented a book to Mayer Truman and the CounclL The bock contained drawings the student made to (depict life la M Inersville. Butea Dotsoa met with the council to discuss the problem of runoff water accumulating a his corner. He requested that gravel te hauled ta to fill la the low spots. The Mayor assured Mr. Dotson that actios would he taken to car-re- ct the problem. Mr. Dotson also suggested that the Towa should find a way to correct the problem on 100 West and 50 Sortb with irrigation water damaging the paved road. Kevin Carter reported on some problems that have developed with the water flow at the Spring. He has contacted various professionals on what can be .done. The swimming pool manager will be invited to attend the April meeting to discuss the details of pool management for the 1989 season. The minutes of February 21, 1989 were approved as read and written. Operation of the golf course was aiscussed. It was the (consensus of the Council ttiat a letter he written to Danny and Carm a Lindsay thanking them lor attending the Council meeting and for explaining what the Council would expect for operation of the golf course during the next year.. Bills were presented and approved for payment. A letter from Deseret Architects and Engineers requesting final settlement for architect lees for Beaver City Swimming Pool Complex was reviewed at length by the CounciL Councilman Smith moved, Robinson 2nd, Beaver City authorize Beaver County to pay $2,Ti00 of the architect's requested final settlement of $4,708.96. The amount remaining shall be tabled for further .clarification from the architect. All voted in favor. The Council reviewed the Municipal Finance Cooperative Agreement resolution. Councilman Grimshaw moved, Hutchings 2nd, Beaver City adopt Resolution approving the amended and restated Utah M unicipal Finance Cooperative Agreement and Mayor Lee and Recorder Lessing be authorized to sign said resolution. All voted in favor. Robert Q. Christiansen, Beaver City's Power Board Representative met with the Council and discussed tentative contracts with Idaho Power.DG&T.
