The Search and Rescue Unit has two Electronic (E.L.Tj units needed to locate downed aircraft. Every aircraft Is required to carry a radio signal generator that Is activated in the event of a crash. Sheriff Cart-wrighas personally directed much of the training and unit has received in the use of these devices. During the months of July, August, and September, we have had four training sessions on the E.L.T.'s and have located the signal device each time In from one to three hours.
