While there Grandpa Clair baptized Kirk and confirmed him a member of the LJDS. Church of Jesus Christ. last Fridav Lori and Russell Eyre and two children of Cedar City came to visit Grandpa Clair and Grandma Helen. They went to the hills and had a picnic and got some pinenuts. The 60th Wedding Anniversary of tlair and Helen GilUns was catered by their children, Lorraine, Jeanette Stoker and Louise McKnight and he Id at the LJJ.S. Church in Milford. Jeanette did the Anniversary cake. Louise decorated the tables which were in pink and white and the corsages too. Lorraine was the big helper. A program was presented, a song by Cami, and a dance by Kristal Gillins, a dance by Suzie, song Justin and Steve Stoker; piano solo-Nat- alie McKnight; Jeanette hart taken some incidents fromtheir married life and her daughter Sue Ann sang some songs from that era. She was accompanied by her sister Lori Jean Eyre. The family sang, "Families Can Be Forever". Many friends and relatives were there. Gladys Whittaker and Sarah Myers also helped. Keith Gil ins was the M.C. and a prayer was given by Gerald Stoker. Ben and Judy Briscoe accompanied the body of, their very dear friend, Elma Elliott to Pocatello, Idaho, on Septebmer 11. 1986. for burial in the family plot. After the service Ben and Judy were luncheon guests in the home of Mrs. Elliott's cousins Mr. andMrs. Harrv Sidell former Milford resident Bill Wood and his wife also attended the services and luncheon. Visitng her grandparents, Ben and Judy Briscoe, over the weekend was Linda (Shields) Nuefeld with husson, Jaband, Eric, and cob. Linda and family also visited with her Aunt Colieen Johnson and family before continuing on their vacation trip to Colorado and return home to Long Beach, California. Briscoe Recent visitors to the Home were dear friends Edith and Elmo Taylor of Orem. Marg Turner just returned from Omaha, Nebraska where she atten -ded funeral services for her brother former Milford resident. Glen Casterline. Glen was the son of Dora Casterline Pool and attended Milford High School. He was an employee of the Union Pacific Railroad. Rehren-stroand Nell Barbara from La Vera, California have been visiting his mother, Euzella Thomas and sister, Virginia Gillins. Visiting Lillian Atkin recently has been her sister, Ethel and Lewis from Ogden, Utah. An 80th Birthday. Open House was held for Jim and Lola Hollingshead on Saturday 13th of Septeber at the Senior Citizen Center. It was hosted Mrs. Marion by their children, Banks, Milford, Lola Baudlno. and Lorna Whitehouse, Tooele, Ut and James Stanley Hollingshead, GrantsviUe, Utah also In attendance were their fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren, many friends and neighbors and relatives and son, Travis and Vvs Baxter. Bonnie Mclntyre from Salt Lake City visited her mother, Vvs Baxter and sister, Judy Daly and son, Travis this past week. Judy Daly, Vvs Baxter and Marilyn Fotherlngham from Cedar City drove to St. George last Friday to Vvs's brothers Dixon and Enid Fotherlngham jack and Gale Fotherlngham from Sprlngdale, , utan were also there. They all had dinner at the Holiday Inn to celebrate Enlds birthday. Vvs stayed until Sunday when Judy drove down to bring her mother hoem. Lund, Olive Root, margaret Vivian Rollins, Dixie Lamb, Neva Kinross, Lola Bridge traveled to Delta Wednesday the 10th of Sept. to attend a Rebecca Utah State Presidents visitation, President Agnes Kinsman from Kaysville.Utah. They enjoyed a nice buffet supper after. Mike and Sherrl Yardley and family spent the weekend in St. George with Sherrle's mother, Melba Sherrle's sister, Cindy Ephey. Iverson and her fiance, Scott Dryer from Las Vegas, Nevada, were also there. They spent the day swim ing and then attended the Dixie Round -- up Parade and Rodeo. Duane and Maureen Yardley drove their grand daughter Ashlee Cahoon to Delta on Sunday to meet her mother, Betsy Cahoon who met them there, so they could return her home to Orem. Ashley spent a week with her grandparents. The Second Ward Primary presented their Sacrament meetingpro-graSunday, Sept. 14th. Stake vi- rv:S - ..-;- ; SAVE 1 Dickie Weaver took some of his grandpa's (Dick Pryor's) onions to the State Fair and got a 1st place. This was done through the F.F.A. program through the school. Howard Pryor spent a couple of days last week In Cedar City to a Comlssloner's Convention. Vivian Marshall and Lelia Carter hosted the summer Literary Party last week. A lovely ham dinner was served to the women and their husbands. A large crowd was there. Blake Marshall and Mike McMuI-ll- n took a load of race horses to Phoenix last week. Ward Conference was held in Minersville on Sunday. The Stake Presidency and all the Stake people attended the meeting that was held. Loretta and Oz Myers are home after Loretta had hip surgery In the L.D.S. Hospital. Dalton Falls Is home after having eye surgery In Salt LaJca City. The Minersville School held an open house so that parents could see what the new addition is like. went to St. Dalton Margaret George for medical tests. Her sis- in attendance were Florence Hiatt, Afton Keslerfrom Greenville, Stake Primary President, Roberta Stoker from Beaver. Norma Visiting Wllmer and Aagard for the weekend was their son, son, Roger Aagard and Norman, son, Brent and two daughter, Aimee and Madeline from Salt Lake City. They went sage hen hunting and pinenut hunting. Silver Deseret Camp Daughters of Utah Pioneers held their monthly meeting and luncheon Tuesday, Sept. 9th at daughter Irene Stewarts with Cuma Goodwin and Bobbie James read a history of her great grandfather. Irene Stewart showed a book of family history. A lovely luncheon was served to seven members and two guests. Maudell Crane spent the weekend visiting her daughter, Ilene and Bob Rol ins and family in West BountiShe also attended the Utah ful. State Fair. Beth Edwards spent three days visiting daughter, Wary and Gary Weston and family inMurray, daugh ter, Joan and Evan Ginn and family e. in Sandy and son, Bryan in They attended the B.Y.U. and New Mexico Football game and celebrated Beth's and Mary's birthdays, Sept. 13th with a dinner after the game. Phyllis Truman was in Cedar City on Wednesday to a Five Countv meeting. Russell Carter was injuerd in football and was in the Beaver hospital with a ruptured kidney. Many of the parents from Minersville traveled to Mesquite, Nevada to watch the Beaver Football team win. Matt Marshall Robbie, Ryan are staying with their grandparents, Howard and Gertrude Marshall. Gunn McKay was In town. He is running on the Democratic ticket special town board meetingwas held on Wednesday to see about the water ano oads for improvements. Melba Marshall has retired from the head cook at the Milford Hospital. She has been cooking since July 1, 1954, 32 12 years. She has been real faithful to her job. Sunday the family had a retirement party in Delta. All their children were there: Arlan Marshall from Salt Lake City; Connie Mortensen from Delta; Leslie Anderson and Parkinson from CedarClty; and most of the granchildren were there.
