Dinner was served and the girls enjoyed a couple of movies. A good time. was had by all. Shan turned 9. Many Milford residents enjoyed a Donkey Basketball game Monday night. It was sponsored by the ninth grade class and held at the gym. Those who didn't come out really missed anight of fun entertainment. Also, students from the grade school and high school are starting practice on the play "The Purple Dragon". They visited Janice's sister Marylin and family and her brother Doug and family before returning home on Saturday evening. The children stayed with Phylis and Frank Myers. Speakers at Sacrament Meeting In the Ward Sunday were High Councllmen Rondo Farrer and Rick Webster. Mrs. Webster also visited the ward. Jchn and Peggy Kerksick and Barton were In St. Margaret George Saturday doing Temple work. Bishop Sheldon Jessup, Brent Edwards, Don Weldert Wayne Bradshaw were in St. George on Saturday for meetings at the Temple. Dinner guests at the home of Rick and Kay Edwards Friday were Gail and Glenn Jablionski. An enjoyable evening was spent with the two families. REVERSE Leo and Melissa Kanell returned recently from a very fun filled holiday in California. Leo, Melissa and their three children and Leo's brother Ted and Trice Kanell and four children went toVanNuys California to Melissa's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Asa White for the New Years holiday. On New Eve Melissa's brother, Lehi and wife Glorie took Melissa and Leo out to dinner at the Scandia Restaurant (one of the nicest restaurants in L.A.) and later that night they attended the Barry Manilow New Year's Eve Concert. Then on New Year's Day they attended the Rose Bowl Football game. They also enjoyed taking the kids to Disneyland, Marineland, and to the beach. All in all they had a very lovely holiday. visitors for the funeral of Nina Bingham and staying at Mr. and Mrs. Reed Gillins' home were: Theone Mosher of Yuciapa, Calif.; Afton Rodgers of Las Vegas; and Perry and Betty Gillins of Sweet, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Baxter are very proudoftheir daughter Bonnie She came in 5th in Mclntyre. July and 6th in August in the nation for sales for J.C. Penney. Bonnie lives in Fairbanks, Alaska and works at the J.C. Penney store Stuffed Shrimp. Brooke ate all of hers, after unstuffing it. Much to everyone's delight, it snowed on the 24th, so a White Christmas was enjoyed by all. Santa was especially good to Brooke and the rest of the family did very well. Four days were spent in Honolulu and two days on Maui Island. They had a great time seeing Pearl Harbor, The Polynesian Culture Center and enjoying the warm, summery wea- ther. Joan and Ed Holland spent the Holidays at Fort Riley, Kansas, visiting Vicki, Skip and Brooke Briscoe. The weather was in the 50s and 60s the first week they were there, so most of that time was spent doing things that had nothing to do with Christmas. The couple will make their home in Kedlands, California. Denny Belliston and daughters of Blanding also attended the wedding. The first baby of the new year was finally born this weekend. On January 12 at 12:28 p.m.Davidand Whitney Barnes became the proud parents of a baby boy. Riley Lynn weighed in at 7 lbs. 9 oz. and was 19 12 inches long. Congratulations! Gaye Schow is in Salt Lake recovering from surgery she had last week. Everything is going fine, and she will be coming home soon. Leon and Margie Thompson and Verna Thompson and Ralph and Ruth Bonner went to Mexico for medical reasons. Jaylynn Blackner from B.Y.U. spent Sunday with Daisel and Wilma Davis. Elinor Roberts and Carlie Goff flew to Oregon to be at their mothers and sisters wedding. They will drive Lester and Leona Roberts home. Ada Jaynes visited with Neal and Jane Gressman and were here for Newell Marshall's funeral. Grace and Scott Bealer have gone to Salt Lake to attend a bank meeting. Effte Marshall is spending a week with her daughter, Rachel Hunt. Dick and Betty Pryor have gone to California to help take care of their daughter in law who is ill. At Todd's Merc they held a drawing last week. Hilda Marshall won the Cabbage Patch Doll, Wayne Gillins won the lamp and Brenda Weaver won the two cases of pop. Marie Marshall won the free movie, Sue Carter one box of candy and Lynnae Marshall won pop. The evening was well spent learning new recipes to do with potatoes. Candy was also made from the potatoes. Helen Richards and daughter Jonl Lee and Mrs. Leona Smith of Summit visited Ricke and Kay Edwards on Sunday. Arthur Blackner Is home again after a few weeks staying In Mil-fo- rd with his daughters. LaRee Stewart has been up several times since he came home to check on him. He is much better and happy to be home again. Visitors at the home of James and Lilly Williams over the week end were their daughter Betty and husband Bart from Provo. Clarence and Doris Hutchison from Hatch, spent the weekend with Sandy and Ken Barton and Also visiting with the family. Bartons are Randy and Brenda Hutchison and three children of Provo. David and Kaye Calvert of Denver, Co., visited with Bessie Edwards and other family members on Thursday. A family dinner was enjoyed at Bessie's home withAn-net- te and family and Brent and Sandy and family. Rita and Bishop Jessup had their two children home from Salt Lake City over the weekend. Theronand Velate came Friday evening and returned to work Sunday evening. Ralph and Leah Fordham traveled to Salina on Saturday for a load of coal. ng Area Obituaries NEWELLTAFT MARSHALL Newell Tatt Marshall, age 76, of Minersville, died January 8, 1985 in a Milford hospital. He was born October 17, 1908 in Minersville to Vella McAdams and George Mar- shall Jr. He married Theo Davis, July 1928 In South Milford. They were sealed in the St. George LDS Temple on April 17, 1976. He was a member of the LDS and loved ranching and Church 25, farming. Survivors Minersville, include his wife of and sons and daug- hters: Tex of Minersville; Elinor Beeson and Stannie Myers, both of Beaver; Joe and Kim, both of North Platte, Neb.; Nancy Yardley of Mesa, Arizona; and Pie Garrett of Delta. He was preceded in death by a son, Don. Also surviving are 30 grandchildren, 27 great, grandchildren, brothers Rex of Milford and Darwin of Minersville and sisters Connie Outzen of Tooele, Eva Guyman of St. George, and Nona Larsen of Salt Lake City. Funeral services were January 11 at 1:00 p.m. in the Minersville Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Minersville Cemetery under the direction of Boyer Southern Utah Mortuary.
