The committees are made up of hospital personnel vho are concerned about rising health care costs. This monitoring system has bad a noticeable influence in holding costs down. The responsibility for levering health care cost goes beyond the hospital doors . . . Indeed, into every home in the coram unity. Today when ve get sick, whether we'd like to face it or not, everyone pays the bill through higher taxes, hospital fees and insurance. So all of as have a stake In a healthier society. We are all encouraged to take care of our health. and to get involved In health care issues in our community. Placing a dollar value on health is something none of us wants to face. Choosing between cost and care is a dilemma forced upon both hospitals and consumers. Just how much can be spent on medical advances. A hospital is a community resource. It's success depends on the Involvement and support, moral and financial, of all citizens in the community. Hospitals have come a long way from that roadside inn. But the lesson should never be lost on that original idea. People caring for and curing others is basic to the hospital's philosophy. There's an unpleasant cost factor involved, but it's the price we pay for our health and at tunes, our life. T Bough the argument will probably never end as to what the proper payment should be . . . there is, nonetheless, a healthy and spirited attempt to explode, explain, and examine every single dimension of those costs to the benefit of every person who ever got sick and who bad to seek out that doctor, that hospital for the care and comfort necessary to return to an active, healthy life.
