Show Jones are spending time with their mother Effie Marshall an family here and in Wilma Davis Last Saturday night Gertrude Marshall and Jack Carter had their birthday dinner at thi home of Jack Carter in Cedar City, those from Minersvlll were: Ty and Bernice CllUn, Wayne and Merle GUlins, Howard and fiertrude Marshall. Rill and Vivian Carter and Kurt and Ceannie, fmn Evelyn r Calvin and Gae Har and J ark and from Cedar. Thty had an enjoyable dinner and some went swimming in the pool. Marie Marshall is home altar spending some time in Salt Lake getting her daughter Evelyn Jensoo settled. Mr. and Mrs. Kim (Mer-len- e) Davis from Las Vegas, visited their parents Mr. and Mrs. Arshall Evans. Dick and Betty Pryors home has been full of com pany for a couple of weeks, some of their friends, Mr. and Mrs. John (Sherrie Limb) Bonn and family dropped in on their way to Disneyland in California. Shirley Myers, Tonyiaand Linda Carter all drove to Idaho to visit their daughter and sister, Taroara Gillins and family. I had a surprize in the store the other day when Deann Orton, Jackie Now-e- rs from Beaver and Leola Q 111ns from Oregon and Ethel Mathews Henry stop Cedar City. Doug and Elm a Blaekben drove to Ely. Nev, to visit for a few days with their daughter Mr . and Mrs. Bruce Edwards and family. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Lone from Orem, Utah visited the 386-22- 41 store ped by the store. Gae is moving her mother Ethel to live with her in Oregon Ethel just recently had surgery in the LDS hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Roberts from Union, Oregon were in MinersvlUe visiting friends and reletlves and dropped in the store. Vance and Kay Roberts visited family and friends in Minersville. He said he really enjoyed it. Lawrence and Ida are the parents of Hilda's son --U --law Scoot. Before they arrived; Tuckers called and Invited Hilda to travel to Lake wood, Colorado with them to the home of Scott and Shlrleen Tucker. Lowell Fotheringham stopped in to see his Aunt Verna Thompson, he visited one afternoon with her. Linda Brads haw was the narrator with Junior Davis, Normand Thompsontlchard Small and Kenneth Brad-sha- w acting out this differ-e- nt male version of Cinderella. The Prince was played by Joan Davis and Geraldlne Barnes was the Fairy Godmother. Another hit of the show was a tap dance done by three darling Jittle girls, Mitzle Wadsworth, Glnny Acklln and Kerrie Maxey. The closing number of the talent show was Denise and Glenn again singing a duet. This time thty sang 'Could I Have This Dane for The Rest of My Life. All participants were members of the 1st Ward. They are to be congratulated on their fine performance. The audience even the children young thoroughly enjoyed the show. ing at the home of Wllna Swain. Mrs. Sylvia Stapley has been back in Summit for a few weeks after a short stay with her son Mlcbeal and family up north. They figured oa 8 or 9 days to travel to MlUord, as it had takes them 8 days to peddle to Omaha, Neb. which they did la June 1981. (Omaha is flat). , Now if you peddle very hard, you can, sometimes, travel 75 or 80 miles in a day on a bicycle, if the weathers good and its down hill, but Scott andChris really enjoy these father and son outings. Hilda Shields Grandma would come back to Miiford with Shlrleen Tucker and Granddaughter Amy plus a 3 month old Dalmation puppy named Freckles, in a car, of course. They left Lake-woat noon June 9th. That evening they came across the two bicyclists about 30 miles east of Sallna, Scott and Chris camped out In the mountains and Hilda, Shlrleen, Amy and Freckles stayed at a motel la Sallna the ladles arrived In Mil-fo- rd June 10th, after taking some side trips, one of them the Big Rock Candy Mt.. Scott and Chris figured they could make Miiford by Friday. About 3 pan. they hadn't arrived so, the ladies decided to meet them and give them something cold to drink. Hilda and Shlrleen stopped at the Post --Office, chatted a bit with the postmaster Kirk and drove 50 mites -- no sign of the fellowst In the meantime Scott and Chris arrived and passed the Post Office white the gals were talking to the Postmaster. They had befrlend- d another clcvlist In Beaver a fellow from Massachusetts, He was on a strange bike with a large rear wheel and small front wheel and he was carrying a baby rattle snake In a sock, he told Scott he would really appreciate a bath. Scott said it .was, his motber-ln-lahouse but I was away, Scott let the guy have a bath well!! After cloroxlng the tub and the man had gone on his way (he was traveling to Ely, Nev.) you were In hopes he hadnt left the snake. Mrs. Anna Dalley has recently undergone some surgery for the removal of her spleen. We hop she gets to feeling better. Congratulations to Miss Raylyn Lawrence of Summit who recently became the bride of Mathew Johnson of Cedar City. A reception in their honor was held at the Summit Ward Church. Her colors were light and dark peach colors. The bride and groom wee married In the St. George Temple. Raylyn and Mathew plan to make their home in Cedar City' where they ar both em- ployed. Mr. David Dalley has recently accepted a job at Rocky Mountain Helicopters In Provo. The Dalley are eventually planning to move their family up there.
