The document Is the product pro-duct of nearly two years of planning and public involvement. involve-ment. A series of workshops will be held where the public is invited to participate in the discussions of five alternatives alterna-tives on the plan. They will be held at 7:30 p.m. on: February 17, Room 204, Old Administration Building, SUSC; Feb. 18 - Spring-dale Spring-dale Elementary School; Feb. 19 - Kanab; Feb. 20- Washlngton County Courthouse, Court-house, St. George. The objectives of planning for Zion are to determine the future of all concession operations, op-erations, to better distribute distrib-ute visitor use and lessen physical impact, and to reduce re-duce vehicular congestion and overuse within the canyon. The use of public conveyences in the form of mini trains or buses for group tours will be considered, consid-ered, and the future of overnight over-night accommodations, excepting ex-cepting campgrounds, in the canyon will also be considered. |
