Show The kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students went on a field trip to Ponderosa Park last Tuesday. Darwin and Vivian Marshall Marsh-all were In Salt Lake during the week visiting Darwin's ; sisters and their families. : Truman and Merle Brad- field have returned home after aft-er spending eleven weeks at ; Yellowstone Park. They j were building a home there ! for a nephew. Thurman and Irma Eyre and Rulon and Rachel Eyre traveled to Las Vegas Friday. Fri-day. They attended a football foot-ball game that evening. Delbert and Effle Jameson were In Salt Lake a few days for Delbert to attend a Justice of Peace Convention. Conven-tion. They also visited their son, Allen (and Colleen) and family In Bountiful. There were many relatives rela-tives and friends here to attend at-tend the Golden WeddlngAn-niversary WeddlngAn-niversary of Clinton and Verna Thompson. All their children were here. They are: Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wll-leson Wll-leson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pace and family, Salt Lake City; Dr. and Mrs. Dale Murdock and family, Springvllle, and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Thompson and family, Mlnersvllle. Relatives from out-of-town were: Mr.andMrs.Les Mecham, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Ron-ald Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Fay Hall and family, Mr. and Mrs. Truman Rollins, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Graff, and also friends and relatives from Mllford and Beaver. A good time was enjoyed by everyone and many old acquaintances were greeted. Mrs. Carol Carter of Canyon Can-yon City, Ariz, and Mrs. Ann Carter of St. George are visiting vis-iting Madge Carter while Horace is still In the hospital. hos-pital. They all attended the Golden Wedding Anniversary Saturday Satur-day evening for Clinton and Verna Thompson. Clarence and Be mice, and Wayne and Merle Gil-11ns Gil-11ns were in Las Vegas over the weekend to attend the Open House for Gary and Becky Browner. They also visited with Bernice's brother, bro-ther, Bill (and Vivie) Carter. The children of Arshaland Lela Evans are here for a few days visit. While here the men are painting the Evans home for them. Raul and Dixie Pearson and boys visited Dixie's brother bro-ther and family in Salt Lake a few days. Grant and Blanche Pryor visited In Provo with relatives rela-tives for a few days during the week. Howard and Gwen Pryor drove to Ogden over the weekend to visit Tom and Joan Makin and children. They attended fast and test-amony test-amony meeting on Sunday to witness the blessing and naming of their grandson. He was named Jeremy Scott by his father. David and Rosle Griffiths and family of Wasco, Calif. Pat and Larry Warby of Cedar Ce-dar City and Evelyn and Debbie Deb-bie Warby of Beaver were all visitors at the home of Mervin and Ada Edwards over ov-er the weekend. Linda Griffiths and children child-ren of Ordervllle visited her parents, John and Reva Williams, Wil-liams, Saturday and Sunday. Marsha Harding and children child-ren of Cedar City visited her parents, Marshall and Nellie Hollingshead, on Monday. Bill and Lettle Gibson visited vis-ited Theodore and Melva Eyre in Las Vegas over the weekend. They also attended the Browner's Open House Saturday evening. There were quite a few birthday parties this week. On Sept. 24, Lorl Limb, daughter of Richard and Sue Limb, was 6 years old. Sept. 25, Joe Miller, son of Bill and Kaye Kelsey, was 5 years old, and on Sept. 30, Christie Larson, daughter of Steve and Jetta Larson, was 6 years old. Rex and Kathy Brown and family traveled to Provo on Saturday to meet Kathy's mother from Idaho and to bring her back with them for a visit. Ranae Williams of Cedar City visited Sunday with her parents, Milton andRevaAl- brecht. LUlie Lamb son has been In Salt Lake visiting her children there for a few weeks. In fast and testamony meeting Sunday afternoon, Wendy Carter, daughter of Allen and Jean Carter, was confirmed a member of the LDS church. One baby was blessed. He was the son of Brent and Tonya Taylor. He was blessed and given the name of Correy Clair by his father, Brent Taylor. Sunday dinner guests of Ern and Shirley Myers were Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Puffer, Beaver, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Taylor and three children of Springvllle, Brent and Tonya Taylor and baby of Cedar City, Blake and Linda Myers and Vendon andLaRayne Myers My-ers of Minersville. Dr. and Mrs. Paul Tucker of Buena Park, Calif, were here one day during the week to visit Ern and Shirley Myers. My-ers. Charles and Vlrgene Jameson traveled to Salt Lake Monday for a few days. Charles is to have a medical check-up. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jones, Greenrive,r, Wyo., visited over the weekend with Linda's father, Glen Freeman. Free-man. Truman and Hester Rol-Hns,.St. Rol-Hns,.St. George, were visitors visit-ors Saturday and Sunday at the home of Aletha Glllins. On Thursday LorettaCline of Salt Lake brought her mother, mo-ther, Cassle McKnight, to Minersville to stay for a few weeks to visit with her sisters sis-ters here. Raymond and Ruth Davis and four children have moved into the Alta Kelsey home. Raymond used to live here when he was younger. Ruben and Emily Dotson attended the baptismal of their granddaughter, Holly Gale, In Beaver Saturday evening. Sunday they attended attend-ed the confirming in fast and testamony meeting, then enjoyed en-joyed dinner with Bryce and Jeanne Gale and family. Mr. and Mrs. Rory Terry and baby visited one day with his parents, Billie and Ranee Davis. Homer and LaRue Harris are In Panaca visiting relatives rela-tives and friends. Jerry and Joanne Eyre and Vance and Connie Marshall spent the weekend in Las Vegas. They attended the Open House for Gary and Becky Browner. Ethel Mathews announces the birth of a grandson, born Sept. 28 to Dale and Margaret Mathews in Salt Lake. Newell and Vera Carter were In Salt Lake a few days visiting their son, John (and Vickie) Carter and family. Word was received by relatives here of the death of Edna Rollins Worthlngton in California on Thursday, Sept. 26. Graveside services were held at the Sunrise Cemetery in Long Beach on Monday. Jackie Davis, Salt Lake, was at home with her parents, par-ents, Neal and Helen Davis, over the weekend. |
