Show DEMOCRATS PLAN ANNUAL JACKSON DAY DINNER Sen. Eugene McCarthy Hugh C. Bringhurst, chairman chair-man of the 1967 Jefferson-Jackson Jefferson-Jackson Day, announces that Minnesota Senator Eugene J. McCarthy will be guest speaker speak-er for the annual Democratic fund-raising event scheduled for April 1st. Final arrangements were made in Washington, D. C, for the appearance of Senator McCarthy by Utah Senator Frank E. Moss. Senator McCarthy has served in Congress since election to the House of Representatives in 1948. He was elected Senator Sen-ator in 1958. Senator McCarthy is a member mem-ber of the Council on Religious Freedom and Public Affairs of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, the F. D. Roosevelt Memorial Commission Commis-sion and the Board of Federal Union, Inc. In the Senate he serves on the Finance and Foreign For-eign Loans Committees. Senator McCarthy is widely known as a speaker and writer writ-er on political, economic and social problems. He is the author of five books. The Jefferson - Jackson Day will be held at the University of Utah Union Building, beginning begin-ning at 7 p. m. Saturday, April 1, with dinner followed by entertainment en-tertainment and the guest speaker. The $12.50 donation tickets may be obtained from any Democratic district chairman. |
