Show THIS WEEK IN MINERSVILLE By ALBATEEN ROBERTS e Mr. and Mrs. Lorraine DeMille and daughter Karma Rae of Henderson, Hen-derson, Nev., spent the week end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles K. Jameson. Mrs. DeMille De-Mille is recuperating from a foot ailment which she suffered in a car accident. She was severely hurt years ago and received surgery sur-gery several times. We do hope she will soon recover- completely. Mrs. Jameson returned with thsm to care for Mrs. DeMille for an indefinite time. Mrs. Charles Craw, who has been ill for several weeks with heart troubles, is at home and is able to be up and down from her bed now. A large number of townspeople towns-people have been suffering with influenza colds. Many are still housed up and enjoying the nice storm we have had this past week. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Bohn and family of Las Vegas, Nev., visited visit-ed parents Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bohn last week. Everyone enjoyed en-joyed and welcomed them. Mr. Bohn reports he is very fond of Las Vegiis and is very happy he , has a good job, which is a blessing bless-ing to anyone. Guy Carter is being cared for at the Milford Hospital, having had surgery. Reports are he was or is indeed very ill, and his family came from far and near to be at his bedside. Everyone is hoping for his speedy recovery. recov-ery. Mrs. Lynn Roberts (I) visited three days last week in Salt Lake to recuperate after having an illness of influenza. While there my son (Mr. and Mrs. Jack D. Roberts and family) of Spanish Span-ish spent one day with us. It seems to be with my family was good medicine. My trip was a free one, riding up with daughter daugh-ter Jane and returning home with a grandson. A nice vacation for Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Jameson is in store. They will leave Wednesday night to go by train to Los Angeles, where they will meet their son (Mr. and Mrs. Vic Jameson and baby son). They will all leave for Vandenberg Air Force Base where Vic is stationed, as he will soon leave for duty in Africa for one year. His family will live in Santa Barbara while he is away. Father and mother will return home after a visit in Las Vegas with another son, Harold, and wife and children. Mrs. Frank Carter has been in the Milford Hospital the past I two weeks, after undergoing sur-1 gery. We all realize Mrs. Qar-ter Qar-ter has had ailments several times and hope this will be a boon to her health. She will return re-turn home Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mc-Knight Mc-Knight are rejoicing over the news of another grandchild, a baby girl born to Mr. and Mrs. Scott McKnight Saturday, March 4th. This is five grandchildren for the McKnights. Congratulations. Congratula-tions. "More and more," we always al-ways say. Mrs. McKnight (grandma), principal prin-cipal of our school, will leave Saturday, March 11th, for Atlantic Atlant-ic City, N. J., for National Principals' Prin-cipals' Convention. Her husband Stanley is leaving for Washington, Washing-ton, D. C, for Bureau of Land Management meeting. They will be together to the Capital, then Mrs. McKnight will depart for her convention. Genealogy meeting was held Monday evening in the chapel. A large number of folks are interested inter-ested in compiling their records of family. This work will be directed di-rected by Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Corbridge. They have been faithful faith-ful workers for a long time, always al-ways willing to aid anyone in the work. Mrs. Gwen Pryor is also in the Milford Hospital for medical care and treatment of varicose veins in her leg. We sincerely hope she soon will be back home again. WEDDING BELLS! Mr. and Mrs. Arthur H. Pace announce the marriage of their daughter Jean to Alan H. Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sheral H. Carter of Minersville, Saturday, March 18. The ceremony will take place at New Harmony. The Paces are residents of New Harmony. Har-mony. The bridegroom has been a barber for the past several years in Salt Lake, where they will make their home. A reception recep-tion in their honor .will be held the same evening in the New Harmony LDS Chapel. Congratulations Congrat-ulations to them, a fine young couple, from all of us. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Thompson motored to Oregon last week.i Word was received Monday evening eve-ning they were visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Karen Carter, who moved from Minersville Miners-ville a year ago to Satsop, Wash. I received a letter from my sister, Mrs. Memphis Myers Lid-dell, Lid-dell, informing me of her delight with Florida weather, everything so beautiful. She is doing a wonderful work, a mother in the LDS mission home for our mis-sionaires, mis-sionaires, a large new home just being completed. Her husband passed away a few years ago. Mr. and Mrs. James Eyre are proud owners of a new '61 Ford. A Wreck! Two cars belonging to Howard Marshall and Ray Davis clashed on Main Street Tuesday afternoon. Small damage; dam-age; no one hurt. Thanks for that. Mrs. Effie Marshall is indeed happy to hear her little grandson, grand-son, is improving in health now, having been in critical condition since birth, about two months ago. The little welcome son delighted de-lighted his parents immensely (Mr. and Mrs. Walter Messinger of Cedar City), also another son Robert, about 16 years old. |
