Osborn Photo the Senior Citizen Menu The Cub Scouts of Milford held their annual Pinewood Derby last Thursday, March 29 here in Milford. On Saturday, March 31, the local winners traveled to Minersville to compete against local winners from Beaver and Minersville in the Region competition. Milford First Ward winners were: First - Brandon Bouck; Second -Allan McCulley; and Third - Kevin Bradshaw. Scott Bacon took first place honors for the Milford Second Ward. Shawn Cox placed second and Aaron Cox took third. In the Region competition Brandon Bouck placed third in the county and will now go to the state competition sometime in September. To participate in the Pinewood Derby each cub scot received a block of wood, four wheels and four nails. From this he then had to make his own car according to the specifications provided. Maximum weight of the cars could not exceed five ounces. Brian Tucker and Impromptu: Chris Sornell. Extemporaneous: Mickey Mor and Drew Alsup. John Webster ris, Three novices joined the BHS team this year. On their first meet' at region. Drew Alsup, Brian Tucker, and John Webster qualified for state. We had two finalists In state, John Webster in extemporaneous speaking and Stephanie Smith in original oratory. They both received superior ratings in their events. Those ladles attending wore bright colored Hawaiian mumus and were presented with plastic lets as they arrived.
