He stated that in his opinion the grant money is not being distributed fairly between the three pools, Beaver, Milford and Minersville. The county has levied one mill to pay back a loan for $380,000 from the Community Impact Board and the School Board levied two mills, one to pay for their commitment to the pool and one to be used for maintenance and operation of the facility when it is completed. The Community Impact Board issued a grant along with Sara country Chorus" and their leading quartette, "Sunland Vocal Band," of St. George, and the "Rainbow Collection" quartette from Bountiful. "Rainbow Collection" won the Region 8 Sweet Adeline Quartette competition, rt l985, mf are con sidered to be one of the most outstanding quartettes around today. The Beaver County Delano Diamonds were guest singers for the two day Color Country Chorus Annual Show held March 20, 21, in the loan and the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation grant. Councilman Mayer stated that because the cost of the project has gone up since the project first began, the city will have to raise more than the original $87,500 commitment. According to a telephone interview with County Commlsion Chairman, Chad Johnson, the city's commitment can stay at $87,500. Eren though the cost has gone up, the city does not have to increase their financial commitment. If the pool they desire can not be built at the prescribed figures, the facility can be scaled down. The inflatable bubble was left in the project until the bids are opened and can be easily removed if the bids are higher than anticipated. The architect's estimate on the cost of the bubble was $80,000. According to Johnson, no matter how the bids come, the city's commitment can stay at the original figure of $87,500. The bids will be opened on Thursday, May 7, 1987 at 4K0 pjn. In the Commission Chambers. Representatives of the county, school board and cities will be present to review the bids. If the bids on he Milford pool are higher than anticipated, or if the pool with the inflatable structure can not be constructed with the $87,500 commitment, the pool can be scaled down and the bubble would be the first thing to go. At present the council feels the bubble will be eliminated from the pool. The Mayor and council members say they are in favor of a pool, Councilman Wayne Wiseman has been actively involved with the committee in assisting to raise the $87,500. In other business, County Sheriff ' Ken Yardley met with the council discussed the cooperation beand tween the city police department and the county Sheriff's department. Councilman Mark Whitney suggested making the owner's of unsightly vacant lots clean up their property.
