McK.yu.ght Stanley B. McKnight, 78, Midvale, local Bureau of Land Management official, died July 5, 1977 at his residence resi-dence of heart failure. Mr. McKnight was born February 5, 1899, Miners -ville, to David R. and Alice Eyre McKnight. He married Lillian Carter, July 30, 1935 in Salt Lake City; marriage later solemnized in the St. George Temple. He graduated Phi Kappa from Utah State University in 1925. He was the basketball basket-ball coach of theMinersville High School team which won the state championship in 1927. He taught school at Miners ville for three years. Mr. McKnight served on the BLM Utah board for 40 years, including multiple terms as secretary. He was a member for three years of the national board of the BLM. He served as secretary secre-tary and president of Rocky Ford and Yellow Mountain Irrigation District for many years. He was an athletic director direc-tor for Beaver IDS Stake and UPPR. He was an active member of the LDS Church and a veteran of World War I. He was also a thoroughbred thorough-bred racing enthusiast, farmer and stockman. Survivors: widow; sons, daughter, David Stanley, Aurora, Au-rora, Colo., Mrs. Lee (Eve) Hendrix, Provo, Michael, -Taylorsville, L. Scott, Great Bend, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Glen, Montebello, Calif. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 9, 1977, in the Minersville LDS Ward Chapel. Interment was in the Minersville Cemetery under direction of Olpin Mortuary. Edna Bak&i B'uneral services for Edna H. Baker, 89, were held in the Milford LDS Chapel, July I, 1977. Richard Banks, counselor in the 1st Ward Bishopric, conducted the services. Flowers were cared for by the 1st Ward Relief Society.
