Show LORRAINE BOWMAN Lorraine Bowman, 52, who brought international recognition recogni-tion to Salt Lake's East High School choruses through her work as head of the music department, de-partment, was killed in a one-car one-car crash at Steamboat Springs, Colo., last Monday. She was a sister of Mrs. Eva Banks of Milford. Her car went out of control on a slippery U. b. Highway w curve, struck a guard post, and fell 138 feet before striking strik-ing a tree. She suffered multiple mul-tiple skull fractures. Miss Bowman sang with the Tabernacle Choir, was a violinist violin-ist with the Utah Symphony Orchestra, and was a member of the YWMIA General Board. "She was one of the best in everything she did," said Joseph Richards principal at East High. "She dedicated her life to helping young people perform and achieve, motivating motivat-ing them to give their best performances." William Briggs of Manila, Utah spent Saturday with his brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Briggs. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Rollins, son Jim and daughters Carol Sue of Provo and Mrs. Mauri Galloway and four children of Granger were here to attend the wedding of Virginia Bailey and Neil Floyd Bradshaw. They were at the homes of Mrs. Marie Rollins and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Walker. |
