Osborn, 89, were conducted con-ducted Tuesday in the Milford LDS Chapel. The services, under direction of Bishop Richard Leon Jones, were as follows: Prayer at the mortuary, pre- 1 ceding the services, F. Lorin Osborn. Prelude and postlude, John H. Loithouse. Invocation, J. D. Osborn. Obituary, Lamar Grimshaw. Ladies trio, "In the Garden," Mrs. Josephine Killam, Mrs. Jerrie Kirk and Mrs. Bonnie Easton, accompanied by Mrs. Beth Edwards. Tribute, Mrs. Alta Hickman. Remarks, Bishop Jones. S.olo, "Face to Face," Lamar Lund, accompanied by Mrs. Lund. Benediction, Gail Van Tassel. Mrs. Osborn died at midnight mid-night Friday, Aug. 7, in the Beaver County Hospital, of causes incident to age. She was born Sept. 7, 1875, in Beaver, to Samuel and Annie Huey Slaughter. She married Frank Osborn April 28, 1897, in Frisco. The marriage mar-riage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Her early married life was spent in mining camps including includ-ing Garfield, Copperton, Bingham Bing-ham Canyon, Newhouse and Frisco. She began her business career ca-reer at the age of 15, as bookkeeper book-keeper in her father's assessor's asses-sor's and collector's office in Frisco. She also clerked in her father's Slaughter Store, a general merchandising establishment estab-lishment in the old mining town. Shortly after her marriage, she and Mr. Osborn operated the company boarding house at Newhouse, feeding scores ol miners daily. In later life she accompanied her husband on many field trips when he was West Beaver County's only state game warderS. An active member of the LDS Church, she had served as Relief Society president, and had held most of the Sunday Sun-day School offices. Mr. Osborn died in 1952. She is survived by two sons and four daughters, Lorin Os- born, Salt Lake City; Dern Osborn, Os-born, Beaver; Mrs. Sam (Erma) Cline and Mrs. Clarence (Edythe) Grimshaw, Milford; Mrs. Aileen Conger, Las Vegas; and Mrs. Ray (Myrtle) Mills, Provo. Also, surviving are 22 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and two brothers and two sisters, Walter Slaughter, Idaho,; John Slaughter, Kanosh; Ka-nosh; Mrs. Annie Sackett and Mrs. Evelyn Madsen, California. |
