Show George Litchfield Passes; Military Services Planned For Saturday Afternoon George Litchfield, well known and popular Milford resident, died in his sleep sometime Wednesday Wed-nesday night. He was found by his daughter, Mrs. Monte Griffiths. Grif-fiths. A veteran of World War I, Mr. Litchfield had been prominent in veterans affairs, was a charter member of Milford Post No. 16, American Legion, and had served as commander of the Milford Post, as well as holding several other Legion offices. Mr. Litchfield served on the Milford Town Board from 1926 to 1932, as Town Trustee in charge of the water department. He was one of the first volunteers volun-teers from Milford in the recruiting recruit-ing campaign of World War I. Until his retirement several years ago, he had worked as a barber bar-ber in Milford, owning shops in several locations on Main Street. He was born August 19, 1880, in Elsie, Mich., to Charles and Julia Litchfield. In 1917 he married Sadie Munford in Milford. She died Aug. 13, 1944. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Roy Easton, Caliente, Nev.; Mrs. Monte Griffiths, Milford, and Mrs. Julian Arnold, Las Vegas; 14 grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted at 1 p. m. Saturday in the Milford LDS" Church. Burial will bs in the Cedar City Cemetery. Milford Post No. 16, American Legion, will confer military graveside grave-side sendees and provide a color guard and escort during the services serv-ices and at the graveside. |
