Show Services Held in Caliente For Ruth Phillips Korns Funeral services were held September Sep-tember 10 in Caliente Community Church for Ruth Phillips Korns, 75, who passed away Sept. 7 in the Lincoln County hospital after a lingering illness. Mrs. Korns was born Jan. 10, 1886, in Salina, Kansas, to Dr. W. A. and Rebecca Coburn Phillips. She received her education in the Kansas and Oklahoma schools, becoming be-coming a teacher in the latter school system. She was married Nov. .14, 1909, to Harry Millard Korns in New-kirk, New-kirk, Okla. To this union one daughter was born, Reba Ruth Korns Hards, now of Garland, Utah. Mr. Korns passed away December De-cember 8, 1958, in Caliente. Mrs. Korns was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Salina, Sa-lina, Kansas, a Past Matron of Mary Chapter, OES., Past President of Native Daughters of Kansas, and numerous other organizations. She is survived by her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Hards, and two grandchildren, Charles and Marilyn Hards, of. Garland, Gar-land, Utah; a brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. C"harles Miller, Caliente, Nevada; one nephew, W. P. Miller, Milford, Utah; two nieces, Mrs. Margaret Clements, Las Vegas, Nevada; and Mrs. Dorothy Doro-thy Phillips, Caliente. Services were under the auspices aus-pices of the Rev. Carl Gray and Mary Chapter, OES. Interment was in Caliente City Cemetery beside be-side her late husband. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Miller of Milford were among those from out of town who attended the services. |
