Show Pratt P. Root Pratt Page Root, 72, died ! last Friday in the Beaver County Hospital Hos-pital of natural causes. Funeral services, held in the Milford L- D S Chapel Monday and directed by Leon Jones, were as follows: Invocation, Rue Nielsen; obituary, obitu-ary, Mitchell Fisher. Speakers were Otto Fife and Samuel F. Leigh, both of Cedar City. Musical num'bers were toy a quartet, Deward Nay, Boto Wright, Homer Christensen and Lamar 'Lund; a song toy Marjorie Sherwood Sher-wood and a song toy Dan Ferguson. Fergu-son. The benediction was pronounced toy Arthur Fife of Albany, New Mex., and the grave in the Milford Mil-ford Cemetery was dedicated toy Hans C. Bogh of May-field. The Milford I O O F Lodge conducted con-ducted graveside services. Mr. Root was born Oct. 17, 1885, in Cedar City, to John Arson and Margaret Harriet Page Root. His father was a stage line operator, and the family lived in several western mining communities toe-fore toe-fore moving to Milford. In 1909 he married Sadie Wads-worth, Wads-worth, in Manti. They were divorced di-vorced in 1921. and in 1935 he married mar-ried Angie Lyman. At the age of 16 Mr. Root was mail carrier from Stateline to Modena, and at one time carried messages from Milford to Minersville Miners-ville before the telephone line was installed. From 1926 to 1936 he operated op-erated the Milford branch of the Southern Utah Mortuary, and was proprietor of a recreation parlor and confectionery from 1933 to 1938. He also worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring in 195". He was one of Beaver County's most ardent sportsmen, and spent many hours hunting and fishing. He belonged to the Milford I O O F Lodge, and to the Elks Lodge it Goldfield.
