He also explained that they used to go into the home under home health visits and that they were no longer allowed to do this. Mrs Johnson stated she had checked with her insurance company and they would pay for home visits under certain conditions. Mr Gledhill said he would look into this. Phylhs Mayer asked inspiratory therapy had handed two week nobce9 John stated we are fortunate lo have wh in a that two our in respiratory therapist He stated that there communiiy was a situation between one therapist and another employee that had caused one therapist enough concern that this person had given notice of reduction of hours but that the situation had been handled and that it was behind us. Bill Johnson asked why respiratory therapy had been given a 90. day notice? John stated that he had not heard of this at all and that he hoped that this was not something that they were planning, (respiratory therapy services is contracted with the hospital through Mountain West Respiratory Care and requires a 90 day notice from either party prior to termination) and that the hospital had certainly not given them any notice Phyllis Mayer then asked about RN's being brought from our of the area and getting the preferred shifts. John explained that we had hired every RN from the area that wanted to work and that we are also bringing back other nurses who have left. This has happened because of our increased wages and added benefits that have recently been given. He also stated that we have been extremely busy and that when there hasn't been enough staff to cover the shifts that outside PRN nurses are brought in and because of per diem and agency costs, it does cost the hospital more to hire them. John also stated that we currently fully started and that we are using cover to PRN only pools asked then Mrs Mayer occasionally why the regular RN's were not paid at the same rate John said that our employees are at a comparable rate of pav for Southern I hah.
