The course ran from the Milford Golf Course to the top of Baldy Hill around the water tank and finish up at the Milford Track for a distance of three miles. Places were awarded to the top five finishers in girls and Dr. Thompson on no 1 Valley Hospital boys. Nisha Livingston of Milford place 3rd and Dustin Whittaker of Milford placed 2nd. We would like to thank the Sheriff s Department and the Search and Rescue for their help. Also we would like to thank those that volunteer their time to make this meet a success. The cross country team will run in Panguitch October 8th at 6.30 p.m.. Region will be held October 17th at 10.00 a.m. at Panguitch also. Beaver Hosts Beaver and Milford meet in league play for the first time in 10 years. Last weeks game w as one of cheers and jeers and overall excitement as the Milford Tigers hosted the Beaver Beavers with a record turnout from the fans. In the first quarter. Chad Marshall from Beaver ran 80 yards for a touchdown to begin the scoring. Milford came back with a 22 yard pass from Craig Barnes to Craig Wiseman evened up the score. Beav er then kicked a successful 22 vard field goal to end the half Beaver 9, Milford 6. The third quarter began with the Beavers gaining 2 points for a safetybringing the score to 1 Milford then scored on a razzle-dazzl- e with a 47 yard pass from Craig Barnes to Craig Wiseman making it 2. Milford 18. - 6. 11-1- 19-1- 2. CC Meet BHS hosted the Beaver Invitational CC meet Wednesday September 24. Clear skies and sunny warm weather greeted the more than 1 00 runners that completed the 3.2 mile course that starts at the Canyon Breeze Golf Course and finished in the north parking lot of BHS. The North Sev ier men's and women's teams dominated the meet with 25 and 3 1 points respectively, but Beaver's Rena Williams won the women's competition with a season and personal best time of 19 min. 59 seconds. Hyram Anderton continued to lead the Beaver men's team with a 1 0th place 1 7 minute 49 second time. Lady Tiger Volleyball The volleyball season is well under way. Last week Milford hosted Wasatch Academy and the girls showed their stuff. The Junior 5. Varsity team played three matches losing the first with a score They came back to win the game taking the next two matches with scores of 15 - 4 and 15 -- 12. The Junior Varsity has a new coach this year. Assistant Coach Shauna Groll, and she is doing a great job. Wasatch Academy Varsity team proved no contest for the Lady Milford Varsity girls swept the game with scores of 15 - 3 the Tigers, and 15 - 5. They are coached by Kathy Palmer. This was the last home game and the senior girls were honored with their parents. Senior players are: Cheryl Barnes, Lindsay Barnes, Lynette Holm, and Shelby Holm. Coach Palmer says the girls are playing very well this year and have come a long way from last year. They play each game with full effort to the bitter end. She commented that they have a very strong Sophmore team coming up. There are two games left in the season, next game will be October 16, when the girls will travel to Bryce Valley, then Region Volleyball in Escalante on October 24th. 'Thompson Local resident Dr. H Glenn Thompson has become the first chiropractor in the state of Utah to be granted hospital privileges. He now joins the medical staff as one of the full-tiphysicians at Tooele Valley Regional Medical Center. Dr. Thompson graduated from Milford High School in 1982. After attending Southern Utah. University he his Doctor received of Chiropractic Degree in 1991 States from Western Chiropractic college in Portland, Oregon. He currently has his own practice in Tooele, Utah. (Tooele Valley Spine Center.) Dr. is an active American Association and Thompson member of the Chiropractic Utah the Chiropractic Physicians Association. He is an active member of the Wrangler Sports Chiropractic Team (now Chiropractic), where he works as a PRCA Rodeo Pro-Spo- rts chiropractor physician. He has had extensive involvement with the Spine Center at Pioneer Valley Hospital in Salt Lake City where he participates in monthly spinal grand round conferences with his medical colleagues.
